I use Tweetbot on my iOS devices, and for the moment the Tweetbot Beta on my Mac.

This is going to be my only account for the time being before I start any "self-employment/freelance/project" accounts for what I get up to...
Which do we think?
@TheJLangridge
@JNLangridge
@1JamesLangridge
@JamesNLangridge

They're all too long really, but that's my stupid name. I have plenty of ideas for more marketing based ones depending on what pans out in Italy and beyond, but I want a "me" one that I can start with and see how it goes and I want it to have enough credibility to be used in a semi-business capacity - so anything to do with Jedi is out!

Help me out please folks...

Your Twitter "handle" doesn't have to be your name. That appears in your account anyway. For example, my "handle" is @snaptophobic, but when you visit my page you see my real name as well. It's the same for most of my contacts that I can see.

You can also change your handle any time you want.

Like Hev said, you can also set it to show your actual name.

I'm aware. Thanks guys, but I need something semi-serious. Heather's makes sense because it's unique and relates to something she's rather good at. If I was good at photography, perhaps I could go in that direction, but at present I'm still learning and don't want a Twitter handle that advertises an area of interest or expertise to begin with.

My name makes the most sense because it's rare-ish and doesn't have to be clever or marketable right now. It also avoids underscores or numbers which look unprofessional.

I just need some help choosing... (as always :roll: :lol: )

Will you be forming a company to manage your self employed status? That's where Oceanicitl came from - Oceanic IT Ltd.

I've kept it for internet use ever since as it's so unique.

I won't be forming a company immediately Caz. But that's a possibility next year. Depends if I stay in Europe, come back here, or go further afield. Forming a company would only make sense if was to remain in the UK or find a slightly more permanent gig abroad. As it is, I can earn some cash and/or work "for" other people with the requisite paperwork etc. I'm thinking once I'm down there, or next year when I form an actual solid idea with a brand or concept etc. I can then get a seperate account to reflect that.

As it is, I want something semi-professional that can be personal but also business. So my name makes the most sense to me, having read research and blog posts on it last night.

I did look at okenobi, but it's taken as well as most variations. Also, I don't think it's the best thing to use if I want to be semi-professional looking/self-employed-ish...

Even if you're not forming a company think about what name you might use if you did. my suggestion would be try and think of something catchy and easy to remember.

I really don't get why you are agonising over this … if you want a more professional persona on the service, do what most others do in that situation and create a Professional persona and a separate Personal one.
It's not rocket surgery. (8+)

Yeah, I don't think anybody here gets my agnonising process. Which makes me feel rather like Bratty on the "normal" scale :cry:

I'll try to just make more decisions and consult you guys less.

I went with JNLangridge and I shall create more as and when it makes sense to do so.
