Just so you know, my 'one click order' decided on a funky delivery price, so I had to go back and change it to super saver cheap-ass rate ;)

I have already complained to Amazon about that. I always opt for free delivery and it is not an option on One Click ordering.

The reason I asked was some you can read on a computer so wondered if you had bought some before waiting for a decent ebook reader.

Or indeed on a phone. I've got a few on my 'droid thinking I'd read them while I was waiting to see people etc, but in the end I always end up browsing the web or playing games instead.

By contrast, I bought my mum one for Christmas and she's got a couple of dozen books on there already. she reads a lot of fiction, but also loves it for reference books.

I didn't want to get tied in to a seller before I knew what hardware I was buying.

I can fully support that attitude. I do think that the Kindle will be around in a few years time unlike some of the other ebook readers.

One of my reasons for buying it. I suspect Waterstones etc to bust in the next decade or so.
