I had hoped Paul Di Resta would go to Mclaren.

BBC gossip quote from a German auto sport site. Sounds like Brawn really did want rid of Schumy.

Button hit with a five place grid penalty for the Japanese GP, due to a gearbox change. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/19797448The same issue that forced Hamilton's retirement at Singapore. Sounds like McLaren were lucky not to get a double DNF.

I read somewhere else that it was Schumy's dithering that cost him his place.

Well, as expected, Schuey announces the inevitable... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/19826983

He should have left well enough alone, when he retired the first time.

Yeah, it's a shame he's tarnished his reputation from his first career.

Yeah, why? He obviously loves the sport so much that he came back, but he didn't have as good a car as he did last time around. At least he made the effort, and earned a shedload of cash in the process

I think it's great he came back. Might have dented his stats, but to be able to race f1 at his age I think is brilliant.
Just a shame he wasn't in a red bull!

Barring the incident with Rubens, I found him much more likeable during career 2.0.

2010 Penalised at least three times - Hit Alonso in Australia - Overtaking under safety car in Spain - Dangerous driving, almost forcing Barichello into the wall in Hungary
2011 Penalised at least five times - Hit Petrov in Valencia - Hit Kobayashi at Silverstone - Hit Perez in Singapore - Hit Senna at Interlagos - Penalised for weaving and blocking Hamilton at Monza
2012 Seven retirements - although mostly due to car trouble for a change - Hit Senna in Spain - Hit Vergne in Singapore
I was careful to leave out the collisions he wasn't entirely or partly responsible for.
On top of that, in the two GPs with the worst rain since his return to F1 saw him outclassed by many - tarnishing the RainMeister tag he had earned himself in his earlier career. Hardly a glittering comeback.
My point is, he should have left it alone and let his record stand.

As said earlier. Shedload of cash never does any harm.
