That film had a ridiculous amount of characters just to hide the fact you couldn't have action scenes ALL the time...

' Though the word first broke on Thursday via fan site MI6, the news has now been officially confirmed through channels and special decoder gadgets: Daniel Craig has agreed to return to play James Bond for at least two more films for Eon Productions.

With Casino Royale, Quantum Of Solace and now Skyfall under his stylish tux trouser belt, making five Bond movies will push him into position as the third-longest serving Bond actor.

Sony Pictures is also on board to put up the funds to make the films. The biggest sticking point will be scheduling. While the problems with MGM’s financial issues meant a delay between Quantum and Skyfall, the creative team involved have been happier with the longer break, which has led to more time developing the script. Sony would prefer to get back to one pic every two years, which would see Bond 24 arriving in 2014. It remains to be seen what actually happens.

For now, though, we’ve got Skyfall to look forward to, which hits our screens on October 28, while the US has to wait until November 9.'

...

Yeah, developing a script tends to be a good idea.

Nic Cage Says I Am Wrath And William Friedkin may direct him

http://www.empireonline.com/news/feed.asp?NID=35162

Wasn't remotely interested in that (Cage has done an awful lot of revenge/exploitation-type films recently) until I saw Friedkin's name :)

Al Pacino in what looks to be a decent film shocker:

Looks great, but Daniel seems a little creepy somehow :?

James Cameron nearly directed Jurassic Park

http://www.totalfilm.com/news/james-cam ... assic-park

I wasn't that impressed with JP, there were too many characters NOT to have a plot, and it was incredibly hyped off the back of the special effects. I just couldn't lose myself in it somehow, so I'd have loved to have seen Cameron's version when he was still capable of putting the script higher up the pecking order.

A chat with Cameron...

Quote:
/>Did it make you feel like you wanted to revisit the world of "Alien" at all?

No. No, I feel that I?m too far away from it right now, too much other work has been done -- too thickly layered, a palimpsest of other talents from Fincher to everybody that?s come along since.

Do you enjoy watching other people?s movies?

Oh, yeah. I?m a huge movie fan. I love watching films. I love watching films with the family, with the kids; I love watching films myself. I was out there opening night [for] "Prometheus." I didn?t go to the Thursday midnight screening, but I was there Friday. I like to still get excited about movies and whether they pay off or not, that?s not the point -- the fact that there?s still an excitement around a new movie, about the an unveiling of a new movie.

So you?re able to enjoy movies as a viewer?

"Prometheus" is a film I saw twice, and I thought about it ahead of time. The first time I would just enjoy it, go for the ride, not be too analytical and the second time I would allow myself to be a little more analytical about, you know, where the lights were and how they lit the shots with all the people in the helmets, how they probably had to do CG faceplates like we did on "Avatar," things like that. But, sometimes, so that I preserve a fun, fan-like viewing experience, I won?t get into that level. I?ll just go for the ride, like, consciously.

Do you like to watch television?

No.

You don?t watch any TV?

Zero. I don?t have a TV. I took it out of the house. I was watching too much TV, so I took it out.

What's the deal with question marks in online articles? Anyway, I'm happy he enjoyed Prometheus (take notes!), but I'd suggest he gets a TV again and starts watching a few dramas

I'd imagine they're using an odd character encoding for some reason.

Hate it and don't care whether it's meant to be some kind of silly swat mode. Looks too much like Batman. What's with the right hand? I thought the only bit that was human in the original Robocop was the face and the brain?

I'm assuming it wasn't going to be in shot, so... IIRC, he had one functioning 'real' arm after Bodicker's antics :?
