You didn't use Lion did you? Those two apps have marginally improved from their Lion versions...

Oh dear.

Yes you can. It's in the 'general' control panel. The option you're looking for is 'close windows when quitting an application'.

Ah - disabled by default it appears. Jolly good.

Have now upgraded a macbook air (2012) and a mac mini (2011- the last one before they took the DVD drive out) with no problem at all as far as I can see.

Ok.

Why can't I sign into anything bar php forums?
eBay, Hotmail, Facebook, Paypal.
Doesn't matter if it's in Safari, Firefox or Chrome.

This is a bit of an issue, frankly.

Just signed into facebook, gmail and hotmail all fine in safari 6 ML.

Do you use a password manager app like 1password? Might need updating and/or browser extensions reinstalling. You could also try opening your keychain using keychain access, see if there's a fault with that.

1password was installed, but I've never used it.
Would that affect Firefox & Chrome?
I haven't used keychain to store passwords either, I prefer to keep them in my head.

Update - reset router, Airport, nuked 1password, setup new Admin account, restarted the iMac and... no change, and it's just the same in the new account.
 Went over to the Apple support forums. Except I can't log in there either, as the page won't load.

It does have an extension that gets installed, at least in FF. You might as well check see if it's present and remove it if it is.

I used Appzapper to delete 1password, so all it's associated bits n pieces went with it. I've no extension in Firefox for it, certainly.
Going to try booting off my iMac's DVD and restore the time machine version.
However, I've suspected for while that all might not be 100% with it reading discs. Guess we'll find out. If not, I'll just have to build a bootable USB drive.

Before you go about wiping things, you could try the 'USB portable' version of FF/Chrome. Given they supposedly have no dependance on anything else on your system, if they don't work either then you're probably doing a whole lot of work that won't help...

I'm using my Dad's G4 at the moment, to check it out this system.
And it's doing the same thing.
So... I'm no further forward.
I'll stop posting in this thread as it's nothing to do with ML.

Anyone know if CS3 works alright (well, no worse than it does under Snow Leopard)?

Has anybody tried burning the installer to a standard DVD?
Did it work for you?

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm thinking that given I suspect my DVD burner is dodgy, making a USB boot stick is the way to go.

ION, http://tweaksapp.com/app/mountain-tweaks/ might be of interest to some.
