We lost most of our cameras for a period on the boats and some of our cameras on dry land as well, and that meant in the middle of the coverage we were spending a bit less time on the river covering the event and a bit more time away from the river than we would have liked.

Sky managed okay. Maybe they should get better cameras.

From what I saw of the boats on the Thames on the telly, I got the feeling that you actually had to be there to fully get it.

Didn't see any of it - we took the kids for a day out. No complaints from me, as the roads were nice and quiet. ;)

I got the impression the only thing most people got from being there was hypothermia! :lol:

The BBC effort was pityful - too much "celeb" stuff and not enough showing what was going on. Presenters came across as light-weights and several got simple facts wrong.

Sky was miles better coverage.

I enjoyed it over all. But I did think the pointless interviews with people distracted for the "action", so I can see what they're complaining about.
