If you take an ordinary tie of any light based colour and use it as a liner for the dress material in double layers it should be more than fine for one day. Any seamstress could do that with ease.

Can you not just buy white ties and dye them?
Just a thought...

Expensive white wedding dress, home dyed ties.
What could possibly go wrong?

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Only if you use cheap dye. Edited to add: I am so glad I didn't have to deal with Bridenstein - my wife refused to have anything to do with organising the wedding. She said that 'You're the one that cares about it and I wouldn't know where to start - I've only ever seen two weddings.'

2 sisters with 3 marriages between them, and I've been 'best man' at a friends partnership. Photographed 4 (I think) weddings now. Sadly reality frequently doesn't give a damn about the brides wishes for the day.

A girl on my language course is getting married next year. It's all she talks about, and she only ever says "my wedding" even if her future husband is standing next to her.

An 'acquaintance' set up a page on Facebook for hers, so you could follow how simply adorable and charming and incredibly stressful the whole process was.

I have always said were I ever to get married, I would only do so if it involved me and the future mrs jonbwfc eloping. I could not and will not deal with the sheer elephant dropping-like amount of crap most of the women I know seem to have ended up piling on themselves and their nearest and dearest for the sake of a short public ceremony and a piece of paper. It has caused me to develop a kind of simmering loathing of traditional wedding ceremonies. This has actually been a fatal difference of opinion in at least one past relationship.
If anyone reading this had a wedding that they enjoyed and will remember forever, then I'm genuinely happy for you. But in general? Jesus no.

I did. But then I organised it to avoid precisely the circumstance you describe. - Wedding dress made by one sister from Northampton market satin
- Cake made by other sister
- Mrs. Bucket driven to church in a friend's Mondeo
- Married in the church we actually attended
- Reception was a Jacob's Join in the local Catholic church's dancehall with 40 people we actually like
- Uncle took photos
The only real ball-ache was translating the Anglican wedding service into German and choosing hymns that worked in both languages. Otherwise it was a piece of wee. Total cost £1500

I love weddings. Lots of booze and a great party. I don't really care what the organisers go through as that's up to them, my job is to dress well, buy them a present and enjoy myself.
As for my own wedding, it cost slightly more than I would have liked, had slightly fewer people than I would have liked and was every bit as good as I could have ever hoped it would be.

This has already exceeded ten times that. My present was the photographer. £2k for the day. I was ready to tear him a new hole but when I saw his portfolio, I shut up and handed the deposit.

Sheeit, that's some wedding present. I gave my sister a video camera and thought I was doing well. To be fair, she gave me their pub as a venue for no charge and only charged me cost for the food. Which was the best food at a wedding I've ever had.
