That doesn't sound like a good idea.

Galifianakis sounds like Bruce from Family Guy

Marvel's Avengers Assemble has only gone and bloody done it!
After only 19 days at the international box-office the film has grossed over $1billion.
Like the film or not, that's a pretty staggering achievement.

If most cinemas charge £10/15 pp then it's not really that many people seeing it.

No doubt fanbois would have gone to repeated viewings. One guy I know watched TDK seven times at the cinema.

I would like to know bums on seats adjusted for population growth, rather than takings as an indicator of box office success.

It's also relative. Don't forget this is only over 19 days. Summer films these days can stay at the box office for months. The Hunger Games has been on release in the UK for nearly two months already, for example.
Granted, the takings are bound to drop off over that time, but it'll just keep adding to the headline amount while it's out there on general release.

I'm guessing the studios don't care, as long as there's healthy profit.

Yeah, I'm sick of the way movie posters glorify the male abs, biceps, deltoids, traps, lats and pecs. High time they simply got on with showing those glutes, the way the women have been lazily doing for years.
