Don't forget later this year the analogue signals get switched off. It is, apparently, then planned to provide HD services on the FreeView system. You can already buy FreeView HD boxes.

You'll find that 90% of the country has already been switched.

As usual the South East gets the good things first and bad things last. :P

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Cripes yes. Analogue TV transmission around my way was switched off.. maybe 18 months ago? Heck of a long time either way.

I know, I meant to imply finally switched off.

We have a Humax Freesat PVR, which is excellent, but we plan to replace our Freeview PVRs with an HD variant when they switch off our local analogue telly in the summer.

Lego Atlantis Stinger set for the nephew - absolute disgrace, you'd be lucky if it sat on a shelf without falling apart.

A cheap Lovefilm sub, great stuff. As was a 32Gb micro SD card :)

Great travel mug from Bodum. Keeps things hot for hours, doesn't leak at all, and you can drink from any angle around the rim.

A new wing mirror for £26 instead of £150 that Vauxhall wanted to charge me.

Fitting cost £10.

Bargaintastic!

Fujifilm X10 for me
Canon Ixus 300 HS for the wife (and Cath Kidston case)

Problem is my two year old if becoming obsessed and wont leave the cameras alone. I let her loose with the Canon and she snapped everything in the house. I was even brave enough (stupid enough) to let her try the X10. Looks like I'm going to have to buy her a camera now!

Could you not get her one of those kid-friendly cameras? Bright, colourful, simple and plasticky.

I think we'll get her the V-Tech Kiddizoom Twist (in pink) but my worry is now she's handled a 'grown-up' camera she'll look at it and be like "WTF is that?"

Funnily enough I had my DSLR on the table yesterday and when Emily saw it she reached out to grab it at the same time as saying "Emily's camera."

Cufflinks from Slaters. Needed some smart ones because I'd misplaced some of the others and the remaining ones were novelty ones. About a week later, one broke just where the fastening meets the base. I've had one from Next that did similar but that was when I stepped on it! Strangely, none of my novelty ones show any sign of loose mechanism or breaking.
