I hardly watched any of them, I'm miles behind. Usagi Drop was high on my list but I never got around to it. Nichijou I'm only half way through - it's nice enough, but not inspiring. Madoka was awesome. Working I didn't even see the last series; something I'm going to have to address by the sounds of it!

Well we're past the half-way mark this season, and I'm still slacking... this thread was on page 8

I'm catching up on a couple of things from last year now that the BDs are out - namely R-15 and Ro-Kyu-Bu!

From this season, I'm up to date with Highschool DxD, Nisemonogatari and Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai! but just catching up on Ano Natsu de Matteru.

There seems to be a subtle etchi trend there

There must be some more serious anime I need to watch, but I seem to have avoided it for the last year or so

:edit: was trying to place the seiyu that plays the manipulative loli Remon in Ano Natsu - I was expecting it to be someone like Yuuki Aoi but turns out it's someone nearly as old as me who has great roles going back as far as I can remember!

Tell me about it!

I've not been in much of an Anime mood (apart from maybe a Gundam mood in January where i went through Season 1 of Gundam 00).

As such, between that and University ramping up with work, i've just resorted to reading up on Series' and only following Manga.

When i get back around to catching up with Series' i definitely want to finish Guilty Crown... it started somewhat nicely, although i've heard it's gotten to the point where it's as if the Devs don't even know where they want to take the show.

I couldn't help but be aware of Guilt Crown, but I've not so much as glanced at it. Ho hum, it would be nice to be free of responsibilities for a couple of months to catch up on these things!

Anyway, Spring aproaches. A list from here of the more anticipated releases.

<can't paste because of broken forum handling of funny foreign things>

Here's the top 15 in English:

    1. Saki – Achiga-hen Episode of Side-A
    2. Fate/Zero 2
    3. Hyoka
    4. Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka? OF THE DEAD
    5. Medaka Box
    6. Accel World
    7. Eureka Seven: AO
    8. Sakamichi no Apollon
    9. Kimi to Boku 2
    10. Kuroko no Basket
    11. Shining Hearts
    12. Phi Brain: Puzzle of God
    13. Shirokuma Cafe
    14. Sankarea
    15. Tsuritama

Gainax are doing Medaka Box which I gather has quite a cult following. I've not read any, but I'll be sure to of the watch from the beginning and give it a good chance.

Saki might be good. Again I've not read any but I have looked at the pictures and they look nice. Not being able to read kinda sucks

http://gangan.square-enix.co.jp/introdu ... ki_side_a/

Sankarea looks like yet another Zombie Romance. Shame about the cat.

AKB0048 I've been slightly ambivalent about. It has a very obvious appeal with the famous "cast", except I'm not sure any actual AKB girls will be voicing parts at all. I did see a couple of interviews about it, but totally failed to understand what they were saying

I read a few Chapters way back and rather enjoyed it... although it seemed to go in a direction i wasn't too happy about.

Although that being said, i much preferred the Chapter Zero which was the initial concept for the Manga... they changed the initial story in Chapter 1 which wasn't quite as interesting.

I've heard it's a spin off from the original series? And now about the all female private school which doesn't really pique my interest as much as what happened to the original cast (especially since they moved into the national series and there were issues with Saki's sister).

I remember reading the first chapter, but it didn't catch me.

Just caught up on Zero no Tsukaima, leading to a later night than I planned...

What the hell was I watching while that was on?! Is that the Louise everyone talks about?

I really must get around to Shakugan no Shana this year...

Yeah, that should be the Louise that's constantly referenced.

Not one of Kugimiya Rie's better roles IMO, but was alright I guess.

Shana's more of the same, but it technically came "first" and she's more endearing... although i've not started watching the 3rd season either.

So in about 2 weeks I've watched all 4 series of ZNT. I have to say the first few episodes of the first series were by far the best, but over all it's still a very memorable and enjoyable piece of work. Happy ending was happy, if not that surprising!

I've got a few more final episodes lined up to watch, not a bad season all in all.

I've now watched all of Shana except the movie, which I may watch this weekend. It was pretty good. It's weird she seemed quite a derivative character to me, but that's only because I've seen so much work that was influenced by her...

Just watched ep. 3 of side-A which was pretty darned good. I don't think I'm spoiling it by saying they kick butt and make it to the nationals where they meet Saki...

Medaka Box is pretty nice so far, but the better subs are lagging because of all the signs! Still waiting for ep. 3 ...

I think I might pick up Sankarea. Struggling to find anything else that jumps out at me. One of my most active animé fanatic friends has almost given up for now because of the endless torrents of bland ecchi and moe on offer...

I haven't watched the 3rd Season yet >.>

Mainly because similar to you, i've watched so much in between watching Shana and now this 3rd Series that i don't want to ruin my experience of it being "derivative" or "generic".

Not enough Mahjong!

Although it'll pick up in the next few episodes when they start the Nationals.

It made me read through all the current Manga issues, read through all of the Saki manga, and re-watch episodes of Saki.

Ultimately i agree with a lot of the critiques of the series... basically:

- Normally a side story is about something that runs in parallel to the "main" story.

- Since both Achiga and Kiyosumi have entered the Nationals and they're both "main" characters (of their respective stories), it's highly probable that they'll meet in the finals (and win).

- Which ultimately means we're going to have to see one of the teams lose.

- Since "Saki"/Kyosumi is the main story and their characters are so much more "endearing" (Saki + President = win) then it's more likely that they'll win.

- Let's not also mention that Saki's a veritable monster (not to mention the sister of the 3-year in a row Nationals winner). But Nodoka and the President are much more skilled than any of Achiga's players.

Therefore the only point of Achiga is to introduce the teams that Kiyosumi will have missed out on in their bracket of the draw.
I think I might pick up Sankarea. Struggling to find anything else that jumps out at me. One of my most active animé fanatic friends has almost given up for now because of the endless torrents of bland ecchi and moe on offer...
Thought i made a post of what i'm watching, but apparently forgot to :(

Jormungand - First episode was good, but haven't yet caught up to the other 2.

Kore-wa Zombie Desu-ka? Of the Dead[b] - Since the first season was highly entertaining... i'd definitely recommend this if you've not seen it. Haven't yet checked it out, but apparently it's still decently hilarious ;D.

[b]Haiyore! Nyaruko-san
- For my generic Romantic Comedy, watched the first few episodes which were entertaining... seems nice to watch when i don't want to think about anything.

---

There are also a few "major" series that i'm not following but are the "to watch" shows of the season:

Fate/Zero Season 2 - Continues on from the first season (which in turn is the prequel to Fate/Stay Night). I liked FS/N even if it did become a bit generic action and apparently F/Z improves on it alot with better plot, characters and animation. But still need to watch the first season whenever i get around to it.

Nazo no Kanojo X - Based off a manga... which is apparently rather popular. I've personally neither read the manga, nor checked out the anime.

Kuroko no Basuke - Sports anime making a come back? I read a few chapters of the manga before i even knew it was coming out as an anime this season. I like the premise, but Basketball's never really been my thing. Apparently the adaptation of it has been rather good though.

Eureka Seven Astral Ocean - The other big mecha series apart from Gundam, Macross and probably another series. I never watched any of the previous series' and don't really feel like coming into this universe either... but apparently it's very good.

---

Anyways, did you watch your AKB0048 anime?

And i've personally caught up witht he HD Remaster of Gundam Seed that they've broadcast on Youtube... i have to say i really enjoyed it (the first 12 episodes) as it's a great mix of drama, action and not "kiddy" at all.

Thanks for the reply; I'll hopefully have something more to say in a few days. Up to my eyeballs in other stuff at the moment...

I was going to try and do good ani-gif of her appearance in episode 3. That really made me smile :D

Why is part 1 of series 9 of Bleach advertised on Amazon when there's no advert for the full series 8 yet?

No worries, my apologies for not posting more :P - busy busy Uni exams :(.

With regards to Saki, i also agree that Saki should have first walked by like:

But then suddenly tripped, realised she was lost, and then been all:

I really hate to disappoint you Levick... but the Bleach anime got cancelled... last month i think it was.

Although after wikipedia'ing the DVD releases you won't really be affected... you're not even half way through the broadcast episodes xD.

Because that's the way DVD box sets work. They only come out when sales of the part sets tail off. They want to make money. People who want it earlier pay more. People who wait pay less. It's always been that way and it always will be.

Series 8 part 1 is on Love Film if you have a membership.

Bleach is also on Crunchyroll if you want to stream it (perfectly legally). They seem to be up to Episode 366 series 15 so I guess the DVDs are quite a way behind!

Personally, I kinda lost interest by about episode 5 of the first series...

I can't see the images (hot linking forbidden) but I can imagine...

Most popular theory on the MAL forums was that she was indeed lost again :D
