Just popped up on twitter

@BBCLondonNews: BREAKING: Bakerloo Line tunnel has collapsed at Embankment. From staff on the ground. No word on casualties yet

Also from Twitter:

"TFL & British Transport Police deny tunnel collapse on Bakerloo line at Embankment and say small defect in tunnel wall has disrupted service"

Everyone north of the Wash will be scratching their heads about why they should be bothered. :)

It's not a tunnel colapse apparently.

This is why the tweeters is a good and bad thing. A snippet of information can easily get out of control:

Quote:
Hearing rumours that London has been destroyed in a hail of fire and brimstone. Alternatively, there's been a minor incident at Embankment.

This seems like a good idea, though:

(I'm pondering whether I should attribute tweets when posting them, but as most come to me via multiple retweets it could get messy.)

Well a colleague that had just got off the tube said it was suspended too *shrugs*

Luckily I don't use any public transport that goes anywhere near Embankment :)

From what I understand, it's suspended whilst some people inspect/fix/whatever a bit of tunnel wall that was loose and got hit by a train. The tunnel didn't collapse.
