' Michael Bay has told fans to relax over his proposed tweaks to comic-book lore for the upcoming adaptation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

When Bay initially announced that his production company Platinum Dunes were reviving the franchise, he had this to say about his vision for the film:

“When you see this movie, kids are going to believe, one day, that these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie. These turtles are from an alien race and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable.”'

Bay's Turtles are not Eastman & Laird's turtles, clearly. Must be some whole other thing going on. Some mix up, surely. I hope Eastman & Laird sue for infringement. Surely some mistake.

Hard to tell, but I think Laird's the one he's talking about in the article :(

Nothing wrong with the second one. Every bit as good as the first, better in some ways I'd suggest. :?

We've had this discussion before and you were wrong then too ;) ;) ;)

Part two just bored me sh1tless, it had no pace whatsoever and they probably could have chopped at least a half hour off it IMO.

I'm going to have to make the effort and see Iron Man 2. I was put off a bit by all the negative reviews.

No actual story spoilers, just an outline, and an old link, but it sets out what we later learned:

Personally, I couldn't really even recommend renting it  , I thought even Cap and Thor were better films overall. And well, have you seen those? :(

I know people, just regular people not rabid Marvel fans (although I know a few of those) who saw the second film with me in the cinema. They loved it.
So I showed them the first one.
They were distinctly 'meh' about the first one.
From that page you linked - "If you’ve seen Iron Man 2 then you noticed that it wasn’t quite the movie we’d all hoped for. Actually it wasn’t very good."

Right, so what you've got is expectation. It wasn't very good - but it was good. Give up your expectations of what you wanted it to be and see it for what it is. That, to my mind, is a pretty decent action film with RDJr in great form with some good lines. And let's face it, that by itself knocks many others into a cocked hat.

I liked the first one, as a general rule I think most people could have gotten something from it, Marvel fan or not (and I'm more of a DC man who just wants a good film, personally). I didn't go into IM2 with any expectations either way as it's a sequel and I rarely do, but I only watched it to the end cos it became apparent it was a transition film for the Avengers.
