Last Datsun 280c I saw looked like this... Rusty.

Yep. My dad did around 200,000 miles in 3 years in his. The mirror fell off the drivers door - rusted through!

Lovely car, well equipped (all electric windows, bi-directional tape player, remote tuner for the radio in the back etc.) but crap build quality. :(

Dogs and cats are viewed differently by law.

Cats are seen as wild animals whereas dogs aren't. This means that the dog's owner is responsible is for the actions of the dog whereas the cat's owner isn't. In practice, if a dog owner and a cat owner let their respective animals cause havoc in another person's house, only the dog owner can be sued.

In a similar vein, I used to give a fascinating public talk about what happens in estuaries at slack tide.

That is something I would be interested in. :)

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

You get stratification of saline and fresh water, meaning that in any column of water you can find fresh water fish swimming in currents of water, while their sea water brethren swim above.
I'm sure you're aware of what happens to boats moving from salt to fresh water - it can be an issue in estuarial areas where buoyancy suddenly drops due to an influx of fresh water.
There are areas of sea around the world where subterranean streams and rivers reach the sea without breaching land first and suddenly boats can find themselves in trouble.
(At this point, I'd be demonstrating the effects with a 1000ml beaker, some pipettes, and coloured fresh and salt water.)

If you dropped Saturn into a (very) large glass of water it would float.

I've always been somewhat aware of other astronomical data, but density isn't anything I'd looked at before.

You can still buy the Iomega Zip Drive. Clicky.
Yes, a drive capable of reading 250MB at a time can be yours for the same price as 2 32GB USB sticks.

Still got my Jaz drive somewhere. It was great - 1GB per cartridge, and that was when my main Mac and PowerBook had far less than that inside.

The was a problem with them - when you wrote a certain sector on the cartridge, they could fail. This happened to me a couple of times. Not as bad as the Zip drive "click of death" though.

I had a couple of Jaz cartridges and a funny SCSI adapter for the PowerBook 1400 I used it with.

They're out of stock. I doubt they're expecting any more in ;)
