The Hunger Games has been cut by its distributor in order to achieve a teen-friendly rating of 12A in the UK.

The film, set in a post-apocalyptic America where adolescents fight to the death on live TV, had been facing a 15 certificate.

This film sounds like a watered down Battle Royale to me. :?

Yep. Me too.
I have no desire to see this at all. Ever since I first heard about it I thought the same.

A quick wiki shows the Hunger Games novel was strikingly similar to Battle Royale (with some accusaions of plagiarism).

I've heard (seen/read) of neither and am content to keep it that way.

Films that have been cut down to get a lower rating are usually pants. Just look what the Yanks did to The Kings Speech when they cut out the swearing. The took half of the story with it.

Trying hard to think of a story I could care less about than this one, right now.
