I failed properly HARD. We've (potentially) got a new place to live. I had to give my work details for the credit check. After waiting for several torturous days and panicking that we might not get the house, the credit check company rang to say that they couldn't get in touch with my boss. I'd given them the wrong number.

My monthly bus/train card is one part picture and one part receipt. That's good as I don't need to change the picture every month. However the receipt is printed on thermal paper and after 3 weeks of being stored in my back pocket starts to fade and the bus and train drivers have to peer closely at it for the final week. When I last updated the woman at the counter saw the previous months receipt and told me off for putting it in my pocket.
So not only is the receipt part of the product crap, but so is the service.
Just to clarify a few points: The card is too big to fit in my wallet where it would get some degree of protection from body heat. I store it in the same pocket as my wallet for protection and convenience. I may go outside without a bag. I may go outside without pockets anywhere other than on my trousers. I don't use a handbag.
Just where the hell would they like me to keep it? I'm going to try to remember to put it on the outside of my wallet in my pocket and see if that helps.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Tell sister to get real? Get your mum in a cab? might be cheaper.

Unfortunately we live about 80 miles from the airport. A taxi would be about 160£ versus 30£ plus fuel for hiring a car. To be blunt, my sister is mental; I dwell eternally in the hope that she'll rejoin reality but the chance of it happening before Sunday night is, I think, a remote one.

l3v1ck fail
Just noticed a volume error on a report from three days. That error has been carried over each today, to today. Annoyingly today is a day I can't possible bury it in the numbers so I'm going to have to take the hit and admit my mistake.

Why do cat's never learn that if they dart faster than the human eye can see into a position directly under your feet, it's not going to end well.
The cat's fine, but since she just tripped me half way up the stairs I now have a bruised wrist and hip. The morning will tell how badly...
Bloody stupid creatures. Cute, but stupid... or psychopathic two-faced purring murderous cuddly beasts. I wonder how many people they actual kill each year..?

Tell her husband, that your car isn't roadworthy and ask if you can borrow his...

It's just me and my dad at home. I did the food shopping yesterday and thought we had enough salad vegetables from last week. Turns out I was wrong. Had a sh!t day, left work late, stuck a silly supermarket queue whilst three arabs bought £30 worth of donuts for £3 (all reduced or marked down), and had to get petrol too. Arrived home to find my dad had also bought salad veg. We now have enough to make salad for every meal this week and probably still have enough over.
