I find I am in total agreement with you there.

Because they run my preferred OS. Because I appreciated the design ethic, and don't particularly care for what goes on under the hood if it's good enough. Because I don't like using Windows, and can't be bothered to spend time learning Linux. Because I've always used Macs and switching to another platform simply isn't cost effective now. Why do you use what you use?

I knew I would cause a stir by that And that "Why don't you get a real pc?" was a rhetorical question Heather, no need to tell my your life story. I couldn't care less. Anyway, I blame paulzolo for starting this flame war. He should have knew this would happen

You're right. Let's gang up on him and get him after school. (Only kidding.)

I assumed you were referring to being able to choose what hardware goes in your Mac, which you can do if you like overpriced.

Overpriced or not, I don't actually care what's inside. As long as it lets me do my job, I'm more than satisfied. Seeing as I get a fair amount of use out of my hardware, I don't actually think they're overpriced compared to other machines. Of course, other people think differently, and are happy to spend hours poring over spec sheets to get that little bit of extra power here, or drive more pixels there. Me? I'm happy to buy an iMac or MacBook Pro and just turn it on and use it. Computers aren't my hobby, they're tools I use to do a job, and I like to buy nice tools. Now, where's that Paul so we can put an ice cube in his parka hood...

Why? That's a bit far out, even for this place.
