At work, we have a course for cabin staff. I must be careful what I say, of course, but there's often an awkward silence at coffee break when a gaggle of them slink past the table. Apparently they have trouble finding a white blouse in the correct size... all theirs seem to be a size too small...

I can't imagine they spend any money on selection procedures of any sort actually. That's profit down the drain y'know. My flying experience suggests Virgin long haul may well have er.. stringent qualification criteria... The staff on most US airlines are amusing in their own way. I think the last time I flew Delta the head flight assistant may have been closely related to Rosa Klebb. And had gone through similar training. In contrast, the ones you'd expect to be austere have often been nice. LOT, who I think are Poles, have always had cabin staff were both friendly and polite and.. very well presented. Not that it matters of course. The fact is long haul you pretty much don't see the staff for more than 10 minutes of the flight unless you're being a pain in the arse. And I wouldn't advise you to be a pain in the arse on a long haul flight. There's a myriad of ways in which the cabin staff can get their revenge. Long haul cabin staff may be a fantastic job but I can't help thinking I'd be bored out of my mind for very large portions of it. I would also point out that Christina Hendricks would probably barely be able to squeeze down the aisle in most airliners, and would almost certainly be unable to turn round if she did. And nobody would say she was unattractive . Jon

Why is it I can never remember my Steam username and password when I need it?
EDIT
Finally remembered it, but the internet is too slow for it to work properly. All I want to do is buy a game FFS! I don't even want to download it now.

11m waves are expected to be rolling in just as my chopper is due on Thursday.
It ain't going to happen is it? I'd better get off here before New Years or I'm going to be very annoyed.

It is in England. Not sure about the rest of the country.

Shot on the runway, two minutes from my apartment. Now my mind is incapable of anything else.

Back to work tomorrow.
I really wished I'd booked the next few days off for annual leave but a shortage of docs means I couldn't. No doubt that because we've been shut for the last four and a half days, people will be tripping over themselves to get in.

The fact that after all the Christmas shenanigans, I have £59 to last me until the 25th. And I've a christening, then a birthday dinner to attend around the 20th.

The fact I'm not going to get home tomorrow as the choppers today were cancelled because of the weather. I'm still hoping to get off the rig late tomorrow, but I won't make it home.
