Now that's what we're talking about.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Gripping race. JB held up his end but, unfortunately, SV didn't cooperate and finish outside the top ten.

The more I see JB the more complete a driver he appears to be.

Yeah, he's really showing his quality now. When listening to Martin Whitmarsh, I get the impression they are starting to see JB as the lead driver, despite Lewis being at McLaren since he was a kid.

Button's qualifying has let him down this year, though towards the latter half of the season he's been getting on top of it. But it's hard to fault Button's race day performance, he's at the top of his game on Sundays. I think the difference between Button and Hamilton is that Button can see the bigger picture - he doesn't take unnecessary risks like Hamilton and can see that if he waits a corner or two, maybe a lap or two, he can get past someone when the time, or conditions, are right. Hamilton steams in without thinking of the consequences or potential outcome - sometime that works out, but mostly this season it hasn't for him. Like his little comings together with Massa - you have to feel for him, he just seem to be a magnet for Massa's car this season, but it's mostly his fault you have to say!!
If Maclaren (the team) hadn't made so many mistakes this year, I think Button could have made it a lot tighter to Vettel, they just mucked up too many times - as well as not having the best car in the first half of the season.
Even though it pains me to say it, Vettel deserves his title this year - OK, he has the best car by a mile, but the guy has driven superbly all season - you can't take that away from him.

I've had a couple of decent results recently, but I seriously doubt I'll catch you two. I'm taking a leaf out of JB's book, and I'm fighting for individual victories. Ouch, did she draw blood?

BBC reveals F1 coverage schedule for 2012Might not be as bad as I'd feared, OK not as good as all races being live but... • Ten races will be shown live (these weekends all 3 practice sessions will be shown live on the red button and the website) • The F1 Forum will continue on the red button for about an hour of comment and analysis after the programme. • All 20 grands prix will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 5 Live or 5 Live Sports Extra.• For other races not shown live, we have: • Extended race highlights- 90 mins on BBC One and BBC One HD at 5pm for European races - 120 mins at 2pm for early morning races • Qualifying: Extended highlights- 75 mins on BBC One and BBC One HD, Saturdays at 5.30pm for European races - 1pm for early morning races Like I say, could be worse!

As races can't be longer than 120 mins according to the regs, I wonder how much pre and post race filler they'll be including in that time allocation.

Spy Sports News is running a ticker tape story that from March 2012 Sky will be showing a dedicated F1 channel - called Sky Sports F1 HD, imaginatively. Not much details in the ticker but they do say it will be screening all the qualifying & races live in HD. God knows what they're going to fill the rest of the time with mind. Other motorsports possibly? Also no info as to whether it'll be thrown in with a Sky Sports sub, or whether you'll have to pay more for it... Update : More info via the Guardian Looks like it will be thrown in either with a Sky Sports or a HD sub, with a SD version for people who have Sky Sports but not HD. And no other racing, it's a pure F1 channel. That's going to see a lot of dead air, I reckon. Jon

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Oh bugger! Hopefully the BBC sign up Anthony Davidson, his Five Live commentary is top notch - not quite up to Brundle's levels, but pretty good. Gutted that Brundle is going to Sky though.
