A question that wouldn't quite fit in the hardware or software forums as I'm not sure which fits best.
I have an anime series on VHS (original) with a UK English dub, I also have a region 1 DVD (original) import with a different American dub.
Obviously the DVD video (4:3) is better that VHS, but the voices are just pants. I'm going to buy a dongle/software kit from Amazon that can covert VHS to a PC file. I have no moral issue doing that as I've paid for the original (twice) and don't want to lose it. It can't be bought on region 2 DVD, or I'd do that.
Doing that would limit me to VHS quality. It there any legal/physical way to rip the video from th region 1 dvd and sound from VHS and sync the two?

I'm feeling very restless and fidgety, I want to head up to bed with my book but I got distracted doing the dishes, then accidentally dropped my phone in the sink (not while it was full of water at least) I feel tired but I can't tell if it's normal tired since I feel like I'm tired all the time at the moment anyway, In addition I take the last pill in my pack tomorrow which is a hormonally wierd time for me anyway. I cooked dinner tonight with substandard mincemeat and it came out looking a bit like diarrhoea with pasta mixed in, although it tasted alright, it just didn't feel right.I put the heating on advance for 1 hour to help dry my phone out, but it's not coming on at all and the thermostat seems to think it's 20C in the house which I can promise you it isn't.
I just generally feel like I'm losing my mind, slowly but surely, I'm not the "together" organised and "with it" one at the moment, I'm getting irrationally angry at work which is unlike me, I'm emotionally all over the place and feel a bit unbalanced. I would put it all down to the pill but honestly I've been feeling like this for months, it feels 'flux'-y as though I'm waiting for something and I suppose I am, a restructure, a divorce, a ring, a wedding, a holiday etc etc, but I'm not usually one to see so far ahead and be disatisfied by the waiting.
It feels a bit like when you've been reading a book but you just can't get into it, you don't feel affinity for any of the characters and you have no real idea where the story's going, the edges of the plot are there but hazy and you find that in all honesty you just don't care at all about the outcome.
I fell like putting down the book of my life as it stands and picking up an old favourite that I've read a billion times until something interesting and engaging happens in this one.

No idea about the legality. It's very easy to dub the sound from one video to the other, but the problem is syncing it accurately. Admitedly the timing isn't quite so critical in an animation, but even a tenth of a second looks very odd. VT is a relatively imperfect medium, and it's unlikely that your VT audio track will be exactly the same length as the DVD audio track. Probably the best thing would be to extract both audio tracks and use a reasonably powerful editor to aleign them, using notable key spikes for reference. Then recombine the audio and video - Virtualdub is good and easy for that.

Food. I was in a rush this morning and didn't have my usual egg or a bowl of porridge. Grabbed a cereal bar and ran off.
I'm now very hungry. Ordinarily, I'd eat my lunch but on a Wednesday, we have meetings and teaching. Lunch is provided but means I have to wait at least 30 mins before I'll be able to get my hands on food. I don't think I'm as good a driver when I'm really hungry!

I got Bioshock 1+2 for the same price as 1 essentially, but now I have the dilemma of what to do with the 'excess packaging' (I was only interested in Bioshock 2 the game itself): http://www.play.com/Games/PlayStation3/ ... d:12761871The 'collector's box' alone would probably take a 9mm round and it's bloody massive EDIT - I'll probably trade it in at HMV or somewhere come the time now that I think of it, and I've just remembered I have space under my bed...

My sungun doesn't work.
Either the bulb's gone or I must've managed to short the battery.

That there's still four hours to the end of my shift. Then I have to stay up for an extra hour before the weekly safety meeting starts. Then I'll probably be woken up at 10:30 as the weekly boat drill is scheduled to suit the drill crew who work 12-12 (why?) rather than everybody else who works 6-6.

Bratty there would have been 'issues' by the age of five if that was the case
