Count me in - probably every rugby club in Wales would be a starting point.

Edinburgh has. I used to see them with people hard drinking while I was on the bus to work.

So it would seem. I won't try to tar the whole team with the same brush, but there are clearly a few of them that are 17 stone meatsacks, with their brains still in the shrink-wrap.

If Wales do make it to the final (fingers crossed), whoever their opponents are will have their work cut out. I've just watched the Wales v Ireland and NZ v Pumas matches again, and I'm convinced Wales are the strongest team by a fair margin. The Aussies were damned lucky to get past the Boks and France didn't have to be all that great to beat England. So, choking aside, Wales will take it.

Having reflected on the weekend a bit (ie, slept) I'm not writing the Wallabies off next week, despite the curse of Eden Park (last time they won there was 1986 - I kid you not). Sunday's win wasn't just dumb luck, it was also epic defence and making the most of the limited chances they got. NZ also have some crucial injury losses - first Dan Carter, now Colin Slade (what is it with Kiwi groins?) so they haven't got their first- or even second-choice number 10. And Sunday proved Australia can play without a flyhalf at all. It's the ABs match to lose and the pressure will be all on them, especially playing Australia in a game they have to win. Throw in their injuries and a Wallabies team that probably now thinks they can do anything, and this may just be the choke the ABs are due. Then the Aussies will get wiped out by the Welsh steamroller.

Probably not the best thing to do but does anyone else not think that it's getting a bit daft about how many things people get wound up about?

There's a rather large one opening up for the match. Clicky We'd never get that back home - there'd be some wowser group who'd be all over the tabloids wailing: "But won't someone think of the children?"

In Wales they'd get sent back to England In the Caribbean they shut the schools when an international cricket game is happening on the island. I've known similar in Wales for Rugby games.

It should be standard practice. if England were playing in the World Cup semi final and for some reason it was taking place on a weekday (even early in the morning), what do you think the rate of absenteeism would be?
I remember when the World Cup was in Japan I think and England played Brazil early in the morning. Quarter final I think it was. Everyone at my place got to 'work' at 7AM and all shipped out to the pub next door for the kickoff. Half of them never came back to work that day.
