I'd have thought buying enough to fill the tank would be the right approach... as you say, it's unlikely to get cheaper.

Fill it up is the way I go. You only pay for what you use and the next people have to pay for whatever's left when you move at the current rates, so just look at it as a deposit.

How awesome the rain sounds on my window - hopefully it'll still be raining tomorrow morning, keeping me cool on the walk to work and the morons out of my way

That could be bl**dy expensive! Our tanks take around 6.000L of oil. We were still half full, but bought 1,500L last month, because the price was good (63c a litre). I'm not sure how much we use, but I', guessing around 1,500L a year (old house), so what we have bought should last us through the winter and into next summer, but I try and keep the tanks over half full, if I can afford it.

I've been to Mijas a couple of times and it's a nice place. Sad to see it threatened by such a serious fire especially when it appears to have been started deliberately.

Jeebus!
Mijas is our regular family holiday destination. Beautiful little place.
That looks terrible!

its getting scary now the fire brigade seems to be trying to stop it crossing the toll road and the fire planes about 15 are taking off overhead here bloody noisy . for those of you who dont know the planes land on the sea fill up and then dump it on the fire so they are flying in a big circle landing taking off dumping and well you get the idea .

Yes but if it puts the fires out then that is for the best. Any proof that it was arson?

Well. yes, however, somebody drained the tank dry before we moved in and so that would mean buying 2500L, which at 57p a litre would set us back the best part of £1500. We just don't have that kind of money sitting around so what we're planning to do is buy now, probably about £300 worth (500L) and that should do for this winter, then next summer when the prices drop a bit more we can buy a bit more etc etc. The other consideration is the chances of somebody nicking whatever they can get their hands on so we're buying a lockable filler cap and a massive padlock for the vent cap. Apparently there was quite a spate of thefts in the village last winter, including people drilling holes in the tanks and siphoning off the contents, we're not keen to throw our money into someone elses pockets.

Two things... Why did I decide to stay up til 3am last night? and... Will I be able to last until next pay day? The first question is kind of answered by the fact that I had a breakthrough this morning that will allow me to properly start writing this app. I now have a model in my head of how everything fits together. Before today I couldn't quite fit everything together. The second I don't have an answer for yet. It depends on several things. Oh well. I stocked up on some food and I have £11.70 for emergencies but my car is now running on fumes

Tell me about it... I get paid at the end of the month and mine is running on fumes as well. Luckily I'm able to car share with Mrs. V. for most of the week, so fingers crossed...

Thank the lord!
Managed to get a little extra money from the bank to see me through to pay day. Not really enough but it'll get me by!
