That Scotland has £100 bank notes.
I've never seen one in 11 years of working there though. :?

If people look at you as if you're a forger when you hand over a fifty, image what their faces would look like if you handed over a Scottish ton?

Well since Scottish notes aren't legal tender in England or Wales, they're under no obligation to accept it. ;)

That I will have to have a reassessment for my DLA. Even though it was awarded for life just two years ago.

I find it odd, living and travelling in Europe, that England has nothing larger than a 50...

OK, most places don't like taking 100s and refuse to take 500s, but if you need to take a lot of money - for example paying cash for a car or paying a deposit on a flat, it is useful to have 500s and 100s.

A lot of shops in the UK don't like taking 50s anyway.

When I bought my car, the seller asked for cash.
I went to the bank, told them what was going on and asked for £50s.
They didn't have any in the building (and this is a town centre, not a rural branch that opens for 30 minutes on a wednesday lunchtime).
So I had to take piles of £20s instead.

True. I found it strange in Texas where you could hand over a $100 bill for a few cents worth of shopping and no one would bat an eye lid.

It was said that the 500Euro note was agreed as it would become the note of choice for drug dealers (as its the largest major currency denomination in circulation) and is all part of the EU's bid for the Euro to replace the $ as the world currency

No do not need drugs to get [LIFTED] up. I read somewhere that the €500 note was used mainly by drug dealers and as such it was being withdrawn in the UK. For big drug deals they use stolen works of arts. A couple of Rembrandt's are a lot more compact than €50 million.
