Go to the ninite website, it will auto-download/install most of the progs you'll need to start with.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

not entirely sure what variety of Batfan i class as (never read the comics, read one of the novels, watched all of the movies and love the games), but it was very enjoyable. the characters seemed to be pretty close to their origins, and the story was good. the acrobatics and props were fricken awesome too, it was worth going to see just for those id go into more detail, but i want to spoil it for anyone who hasnt seen it. also i dont think i know enough about the Batman universe to do it justice

It's about 7km each way and reasonably hilly, all on road as far as I can tell (I think I'll just go the way I drive). I didn't really have a set budget but I've found this which I think looks alright. It's a little pricey but I'm thinking at least if I make the investment it'll force me to do it, plus I was pretty keen to get disc brakes.

My only concern is that mountain bikes are more likely to get stolen. So do not forget to add a strong bike lock. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk.

Alright so I took the plunge today and bought one. Didn't go with the mountain bike in the end, the guy in the shop advised me I didn't need to spend so much money for what I wanted to use it for. (An honest salemans?!) I got one slightly cheaper which is more designed for road use, will let you know how I go onces it's delivered!

Honest salesmen actually get people to return more often. If you had to recommend somewhere to buy a bike you would clearly recommend them. I suspect that as long as the bike is good that you will go there again. High pressure sales puts people off in retail environments. Good that you have gone for a road bike. Less likely to be stolen and easier to ride on roads. I have always opted for road bikes.

I have a Pegasus road bike and it is great on the road and can still manage trails, offroad isn't its thing though, but as 99.9% of my riding (when I don't get lost) is bike paths and trails, that is fine.
The road tyres are also a lot more comfortable than the off-road knobblies.

Very true, I would definitely go back there given my experience. One thing which was also extremely useful is that if I'm not satisfied I picked the right one, I can return it for something different within 30 days. Obviously it can't be damaged, but he said it can be used as I need to try it out. (Additionally, I only have a two seater, and the store didn't offer delivery, so he put it in his own car and dropped it off )

Just keep it clean. A lot easier. I haven't upgraded to FF5 because I'm not sure about addons, but I use Adblock, NoScript, Privacyplus and Ghostery and then just Avira. Then don't go installing tons of crap. Enjoy.

If it worked on 4 it should work on 5, the revisions were extremely minor.

+1 I haven't used any anti-spyware stuff for years. I've run a live disc over the disk every now and then and never found anything. Safe surfing is a good start. NoScript should be the starting point, I'd add FlashBlock to the list and I use MS Security Essentials, instead of Avira - lighter, free and no adverts (Avira either costs money or displays adverts).

I run it clean anyway but doesn't harm to increase security. In the past twelve months, IIRC, no viruses or spyware threats. Prevention is better than cure.
