In the pages of ACTION COMICS, writer Grant Morrison and artist Rags Morales will present humanity’s first encounters with Superman, before he became one of the World’s Greatest Super Heroes. Set a few years in the past, it’s a bold new take on a classic hero.

* This Superman is very much an alien, one struggling to adjust to his adopted home. In the series, he must come to terms with both the loss of his home world, as well as the loss of both of his adopted parents. He is more Kal-El from the planet Krypton than Clark Kent from Kansas. He’s a loner trying to find his place in the world.

* The series’ first storyline will explore the origins of Superman’s costume, as it evolves from a look that includes jeans and work boots to a new look: a suit of battle armor that pays tribute to his Kryptonian past.

At tonight's Batman: Year One panel, executive producer Bruce Timm officially announced that The Dark Knight Returns will be adapted into a 2-part animated feature, scheduled for release in 2012.

This news should come to the delight of many Batman fans who’ve long awaited this announcement. This project seemed inevitable when Warner Premiere began releasing these animated features four years ago, but official announcements always trump speculation fueled by wishful thinking. #TDKR will be trending all year long in 2012!

Timm also announced the rest of Warner Premiere’s 2012 slate, as there will be two films preceding The Dark Knight Returns- the already announced Justice League: Doom and an adaptation of Superman vs. The Elite.

Still not convinced, Dredd to me is a walking tank...

Not always. when Carlos Esquerra (sp?) used to draw him he was quite scrawney. He has to be tall though - it's necessary for Judges to be imposing, and you can't do that if you're a shortarse. I don't mind the uniform actually apart from one thing, missing the shoulder pads is simply not right. We can only wait and see with that one.
