Switched on the kettle earlier and nothing happened. Long story short, turns out we'd run out of electricity. Someone I work with fell off an 8 metre rooftop this morning.  He landed on top of a marquee and walked away. This incident following three others yesterday resulted in him being sent off site, never to return.
