Ah, sorry I thought Ernie meant proper Spain. Heard this over the wire here. It's been talk of the town. That what happens when your island gets too big for it's boots, yet stays typically Canarian and slack. Did we ought to have some pics in this thread?

The spelling is quite correct, I think it's the context that's up for debate.

Bratty, are you contempt or content?
Or is your usual demeanour to hold everyone in contempt?

You swine. I've talked myself into a Razorpit now after I changed the head for a shave last night.

If you don't get it now you never will. You could try looking up contempt in dictionary. Just an idea.

De nada Just for info for anyone else.... Today, I finally retired my Fusion blade after more than 60 shaves. Not because it was blunt, but because the rubber bit below the blades had finally come loose and therefore the blade was no use. I switched to a Mach 3 Turbo this morning and although it's brand new, it doesn't feel as close, or smooth. May have to get someone to bring more Fusion blades with them on the next UK run.

Quick update: I ordered stuff from mankind (brush, shaving soap, preshave oil) and from traditionalshaving (razor, blades, postshave lotion, alum block and stypic pencil).
None of the stuff from traditionalshaving has been despatched. The alum block and stypic pencil were out of stock and I presumed they would send when available. Whilst looking at the site, they said they only despatch once everything is together. I emailed them to ask if they could separate out the order, hold back the alum block/stypic pencil and send the other stuff, then I could pay £2.50 for delivery of the remaining items once in stock. No reply and I sent the email on monday. Not looking good at the moment. I'll try emailing them again.
Mankind, meanwhile, despatched the soap and oil on Monday and they've arrived. The brush was despatched yesterday and will be here hopefully tomorrow.
I tried out the oil and soap. Both are sandalwood but neither smells strongly of sandalwood. The soap smells more soapy with a hint of sandalwood but the oil smells a bit more strongly of sandalwood. The oil is more viscous than my current King of Shaves alpha oil. If you could describe the KoS oil as being similar to baby oil (ie less viscous), the Art of Shaving oil is comparable to cooking oil (ie much more viscous) and hence required a bit more to spread it.
The soap was a bit difficult to use without a brush. I managed to use my wet fingers, rub the top of the soap and then apply to the face. By adding more water, I was able to produce a weak lather on the face. It's the same kind of lather as if you wash your hands by soap.
I used my Gillette Proglide razor but with the vibration switched off. The blade slid across the face more smoothly than with Gillette Proglide shaving gel on the first pass. Subsequent passes had a bit more friction because I couldn't regenerate the lather without a brush. I went WTG, ATG and XTG and the result is smooth, mostly over the cheeks. Around the chin and jaw, there's more friction. This is mostly to the blade a bit old now and needs replacing. I had hoped my merkur razor would have arrived so I didn't have to buy a pack gillette fusion blades.

Just picked up my preshave & DE razor from the post office. Posh soap should arrive today, I've got others if I want to try out the DE before it arrives. Hopefully the lather bowl etc will arrive today or tomorrow as well.

First shave with the DE razor today.
Applied pre-shave Had shower Lathered up (using old soap as still waiting for posh stuff) WTG pass Lather XTG pass Lather AGT pass Post shave balm
Resulted in a BBS shave on my face, I missed a couple of small sections on my next with the 2nd & 3rd passes and got a slight bit of razor burn on my neck where I got the angle wrong but I'm more than happy for a first attempt.
