Fair enough.

My skin is pretty hard-wearing. 8-)

I'm suspecting rusty's skin may be leathery, but his stubble's wafer thin... ;)

In which case, he'd fit right in over here :D

Glad I've made people spend. It's well worth it. And wolfie, you've mentioned your baby before, I'm not a total stalker ;)

For me it goes something like this:

1. Wet face with warm water
2. Apply small amount of gel/foam/soap/shower gel/shampoo or anything else that will provide a little bit of lubrication
3. Shave away with my razor that I bought from Lidl for a fiver or somehing about two years ago (came with about 20 sets of spare blades)
4. Wash face and jump into the shower.

Very rarely do I cut myself, and when I do I just take it as a sign that I need a new blade and throw the old one away.

I couldn't contemplate spending the amounts of money mentioned here.

I always try to shower before shaving. Don't always get the chance but I find it makes it easier as the stubble is cleaner and softer.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I generally don't shave at the weekend, so come Sunday evening I've got a few mm of growth and normally shower first to soften it up. If I don't, I find that the hair can catch which can be uncomfortable.

So I've had a chance to do some research.

If I buy everything that I want, £200  The worst thing is that I'm very close to buying it all.

I've decided to hold off using a razorpit and instead use a DE razor. But then that means buying a decent soap, a brush to use the soap. Then you need some sample blades to try out different ones and find the best for you. An alum block for use afterwards. And I need a shaving oil (my KoS one is running out).

Even if I remove the unnecessary colognes and aftershave balms, I'm looking at around £130 spend.

I now have stubble alot, the GF likes it which is a plus. Just trim it with the hair trimmers and it stops irritation.

So I went with stuff from traditionalshaving.co.uk and mankind.co.uk and bought everything I need for £130.

What's bad is that I could have spent the same amount of cash on buying stuff to clean my car!

Just shaved my head, it's always a great feeling :D

On using the Razorpit, I'm not sure that it's something you couldn't have made yourself with a bit of rubber, cos that's all it seems to be :?

Works though :)

My thoughts exactly. But still using the same Fusion blade after two months, so, win.

Wolfie, let us know how you get on?

Oh most definitely. By all accounts, I should have the products early next week, so at the earliest, I'll try and post up a review on Weds PM, or Fri PM (have half-days on those days). :P

Damn you guys. After seeing this thread resurface you've forced me in to buying some nicer soap, a razorpit & a markur hd 34c.
