This.

Exclusive rights to SKY, faster than you can say it; with pay per view back on the horizon, no doubt.

Oh, where do we begin?

Only available if you subscribe to an expensive satellite TV package, preventing everyone else from watching live full length races and built-up. Like the cricket, we'll be given crumbs like a highlights programme, late at night.

That'll do for starters.

There may be adverts, but at least they'll get the HD feed sorted out.

Is there a problem with the BBC HD feed?

Other than the fact the first two races weren't actually HD at all, just upscaled SD?

I think that the BBC and ITV used the local TV feed so had to put up with what was available. Will Sky pay for all the races to be in HD?

From this site...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/journalists/ ... es-F1.html

Quote:
Does this mean F1 could be aired just on Sky?

The Concorde agreement says that F1 must be shown free-to-air, as long as there are broadcasters who can do this. This would mean Sky could not, for now, air the sport exclusively.

The Concorde Agreement is a contract between the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the Formula One teams and Formula One Administration (now owned by CVC), which dictates the terms by which the teams compete in races and take their share of the television revenues and prize money.

Any takeover would be subject to renegotiating the Concorde Agreement.

At least I won't have to buy a subscription package to watch it.

Well, without them changing the current agreement.
