Minolta glass is very nice though, bratty.

Holds it's value well too for the better items, the 50mm f1.7 prime still fetches about £80 on average on ebay, the Sony f1.8 goes for about that and there is ~10-20 years difference

Need to get a new bag soon, got my 18-55 stock, 75-300, 24-125 (I think) and my 50mm prime and will probably be taking the shorter tele and the prime with me most of the time

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I buy/pay at the same time as well. Seems stupid to do anything differently unless it is being done automatically, but this wouldn't be relevant in a buy it now case anyway.

Patience.
Try sending him an invoice for the total amount inc. P&P and see what happens in a couple of days.

They normally go for up to 70-80 quid iirc, but not knowing the condition of that one I wouldn't really know. Perhaps a message to him might resolve the issue. No point stewing on it waiting for them to do something.

eBay is annoying me at the moment, they've changed categories for the search filters so I can't easily look at say Wide or Tele lenses.

They've just brought most of them back. I'll have to check they work properly first though.
