Well, I only shave armpits and legs, so I've not felt the need to pipe up yet. Give me another twenty years, and it may well be a different matter!

I use Gillete Mk 3 razor and gel. Sometimes use foam.
I wet my face with hot water, apply the gel and shave. Then wet my face with hot water again afterwards.
I only shave once a week so this works for me.

Imperial Leather Blue soap for men: 4 bars for 99p in the 99p shop - lasts forever and gives loads of creamy soft lather when used with my well worn Badger bristle shaving brush, also works well as ungirly smelling soap too. Any twin bladed disposable and ouchily hot water followed by a vigorous splash of cold water aprés shave and a toothy grin in the mirror does the job well enough for me.

Obviously the quality brush and hot water are doing wonders for you then! Nobody looked at the Razorpit? I reckon it could save me a ton over the summer/rest of my shaving life.

Somewhere in the dim and distant past I recall reading about putting used razor blades under a pyramid of some description (think it was some Victorian patented device or suchlike), which magically restored their pukka sharpfulnessness and thus could be used ad infinitum, might be one of those urban myth jobbies p'r'aps Seriously tho', at £20 a pop, that's one heck of a lot of brand new disposables...

I've gotta say, my first thought was, 'Yeah, right...'

Which is fine if you can get away with a disposable! I buy Mach 3 Turbos and tons of the online reviews from regular blokes are claiming vastly extended lives from all kinds of blades. When a 4 pack of Turbos costs £6 or something, it'll pay for itself in no time if it's any good.

Wasn't that a Mythbusters episode? Didn't it get busted?

Yes, it's nonsense. The original theory came out of Russia in the 50's, IIRC. They were also claimed to keep food fresh. Although you really shouldn't need Mythbusters to tell you this... That doohickey looks interesting, never seen one before so I can't comment on it's efficacy! You'll have to be our test pilot.

From the pictures it looks suspicously like a wet stone if you ask me.

Right, I've ordered a Razorpit. They have kindly included a free Fusion razor, which is worth a few squid, so I'll keep you all informed.
