has anyone else downloaded the new launcher? ive had it since release, but i keep getting login errors during the evening: it works fine during the day. has anyone else had issues with it? did you fix them?

I couldn't log in with it. I downgraded to the old loader and it's worked fine ever since. I thought I needed the new loader to get 1.3 but that's not the case.

Message me if you need me to email it to you. It's only 92K as a rar.

It says they were buggy so they took them out. New version is just a few days old, and they're back.

I think they're still glitchy as

I like collecting the slime balls, but apparently they're good for nothing. For some reason I really want to make a cake out of one

I think we need more screen shots :D

Minecraft porno features angular, awkward doggy style. Tissues not required, but still worthy of a NSFW

Nice sofa. I have to make one now.

Been meaning to post this one for a while:

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/ ... -Minecraft

It's a frighteningly accurate description of what it's all about. "Why are my intestines over there now?"

Could someone explain what the point of this game is please?

I know you can build stuff in it but why build stuff? What is the point of building stuff? What happens if you don't build things? Is there a story to it or anything?

It seems like a really bizarre game to me but maybe that's because I've never played it?

You just dig, explore and find and build stuff generally. On the multiplay you build big stuff to a plan and/or show off your talents/skills.

Just a harmless waste of time, but carries a certain satisfaction.

Did you watch the video? It's a pretty good summary

OK How come I'm still playing this for several hours at a time months after I bought it..?

1. I'm exploring deep under ground, overground and wombling free. Searching for treasures and trying not to get my head blown off by an exploding shrubbery. Because there's no set path, you make your own way and it's a lot more interesting than most games because it's never the same. The map is bigger than the real world - I'll never have to play the same route twice. Ever.

2. Survival requires a plan. You need to build defences, gather materials and milk cows by hitting them with a bucket.

3. I like building stuff in multi-player, partly to show that I can and partly so that other people can have fun trying to figure out where my tunnels lead to and what my plan is.

4. I like exploring the stuff other people have done. It can be very surprising at times, even damn right scary.

5. We get random updates. Last week a wolf came and ate my sheep, then bit my arm off. There weren't any wolves a couple of weeks ago!

6. The cake is not a lie. It has magical cherries on top.

Have a look on Youtube for custom maps and walk-throughs. It's unbelievable the stuff some people have done. There's even a life size 1:1 model of The Enterprise which is worth taking a look at, but I mostly like the puzzle adventure games people have built.

LOL, the resemblance to Minecraft is uncanny - but it's clearly a very different game. The only similarity is the random world, mining and appearance. This game is much more about killing stuff than making stuff.

Might see if I can remember my Steam login and get it anyway

In the mean time, I guess Manic Miner is the real original so I'll just play that on my phone

Someone is building a full sized model of the USS Enterprise (D). Impressive.

Still not convinced by it enough to buy a copy. I suspect it would just languish on my HD after a couple of days of play.

Yeah, I've seen some pretty impressive builds. Despite the blocky nature, the attention to detail is pretty amazing too.

Would I buy it? no - I'm not into sandbox games. They get very boring, very quickly. You could put that down to a lack of imagination, on my part, but I'd rather engross myself in something like an RPG or FPS game.
