As I said elsewhere, make it so number one. Go on. Red jersey time!

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

That was the plan. Gonna try and emulate the one from the Photography forum that got posted recently. Mark

In a similar vein, I just checked and some b*st*rd at forum-maximus.net is stealing my bandwidth to the tune of 600 views per day. But not for long...

Many people are, perhaps you are becoming normalised.

Yep - Renamed it. Next step is to turn it upside down. After that I'll change it to say "I'm a bandwidth thief" And then "I wish my name was Gaylord Focker" [Edited to add] and then maybe "I bought an iPad and put XP on it"

The blue and green lines are bandwidth being stolen by forum-maximus.net and libertycity.ru respectively. The vertical scale is in views per day and for comparison, my X404 avatar is in yellow. Thieving tossers.

You only have to look at some of threads on here to realise it's ignorance and not malice. Our very own PC Ernie is one of the biggest criminals I can think of, oh the irony I do it myself. I usually think "If I post it on 404 the hits will be so low they won't even notice" - but of course, everyone thinks like this and it can add up. I try to only hot-link sites like the BBC and Daily Fail, rather than obviously smaller outfits. On the other hand, I love the fact that sites like XKCD actively encourage hotlinking. When it's original material, hotlinking is basically cheap advertising. If you don't like hotlinking, don't bitch about it. Just don't allow it... *realises he doesn't know how*
