Many people know where I live but I wouldn't invite them in.

Actually a vampire would be fine, the people round here have far worse teeth.

ScamPal seems to only protect scammers... I wouldn't go through paypal, for the reasons given.
IF you do, get him to sign it and photocopy some photo-id - easier here as everybody has to have an ID card.

Yes for everyone visiting. Jehovahs witnesses, meter readers, postmen, milkmen etc.

I meant sign for it... And I have a multi-function printer - fax machines also usually photocopy.

I've just bought a cable for my iPod from a seller called duragadget and when I've clicked "Pay now" I get this message... Now, understandably, I'm a bit cautious about entering my PayPal details on any site other than PayPal itself. Has anyone heard of this ChannelAdvisor, and is it all above board? I'm not proceeding any further with the sale until I can be sure it's legit. Not sure if I can cancel the sale without getting negative feedback. The Seller in question has 99.9% positive feedback, clicky. HELP!!

I think that you should be okay. I think that I have I been directed to sites that are similar, without any problems. Use a credit card rather than a direct transfer from your current account.

I've used it before, it should be legit (they do exist, usually used by sellers in China, for instance), but do the usual checking - 'https', the little lock etc at least.

Buyers can't recieve negative feedback. I have often used payment systems through 'channel' this or that. The easiest way is just to go onto paypal and send the payment direct to his account off there with a note (though they may not be best pleased with that ). Might be worth asking the seller.

Yes it's fine. All your details should already be on "ChannelAdvisor's" form when you go to it. I hate companies that don't use eBay checkout, but there are some around...

Yes but I have not had a problem with any payment. A lot of the time it is a symbol that they are a little more professional.

OK, thanks - I'm going to hold off for the moment, until I get an official response from eBay. I asked them last night, but just received a stock reply about paying via PayPal, so I've repeated the question and will wait to hear what they say. Will hopefully get a more personal response next time.
I've also made a request to the seller asking them if it's possible to cancel the sale, as I believe this is possible as long as you request it while the item is still active (it's a BuyItNow with more than 10 items available, so it's still ongoing). As yet, I've received no reply from the seller.
It annoys me that the seller wasn't upfront about the fact the PayPal purchases weren't made directly from the PayPal site, but from a third party site. If I'd known about this beforehand, I wouldn't have bidded for it.
I'm just so cautious about entering my PayPal account details on anywhere other than the official PayPal site. Anyway, thanks for the advice.
