Our library has an unabridged audio book of Clarke's 2001: A Space Odyssey.

It's only available in WMA format. The Mac software doesn't read it.

Can iTunes on Windows not convert WMA in to mp4 or some such?

Oh, I could access the files on my PC, but I won't be able to get it onto the iPod because that would have to be reformatted (again) to Windows, and then linked to the PC. We haven't installed iTunes on the PC for the reason it won't ever be used.

Besides, I've already apparently downloaded the book and can't get it again until the end of the month.

It's a combo fail on behalf of Kent County Library Service and yours truly.

Bought a set of weights that total 20kg in a case so that I could shift it around if necessary. Have discovered that my fcuktard parents have destroyed the case by dropping it*. This shall be an ongoing argument as both are saying they had nothing to do with it , though it may give me the perfect excuse to punch my father in the head...

And no I'm not joking, it's well fcuking due

* Case has an enormous dent in the top corner and is cracked along one side, meaning any sort of movement as intended will seriously shorten it's lifespan.

One of the H&S types banned toasters from the wards in one hospital I worked. Patients had the choice of cereal or plain bread with spreads. No toast! Felt so sorry for them.

Yes but if they electrocute themselves by using a knife in the toaster it solves the bed blocking problem.

It's the nursing staff who used the toasters to make toast and it's in the kitchen, which is off limits to patients. So no electrocution.

Yes but if the staff are electrocuted then they would have most likely have been a liability to the hospital longterm anyway.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing... me and my dad used to piss each other off more than anyone else in the world...

My dad doesn't have to. Poor bugger was so gone that I don't think he realised that by getting wheeled down the isle by a mentalist onto her 3rd marriage that he was signing away any possibility of me and my brother having something physical to remember him by.

I'm not talking money, family photos or one of his paintings would be nice.

It's not easy living with parents who would destroy your stuff, treat you like you're an idiot, and then try to rip you off by not paying for the damage!

I honestly won't miss any of my family, we've never been that close from day one, there's just a level of emotional retardation you wouldn't believe

In case you don't know, everyone, seals in captivity are category one dangerous animals, with tigers and other big cats, crocs, etc.
So I shouted at him to stop that for his own sake. One of our seals was definitely looking a bit interested.

If it were not for lawyers Darwin's should have been allowed to proceed as normal.

Well, there'd be paper work. And he could've made our seals ill.
