Narc Anon is a Sci org. I've had a friend who was going to attend for various reasons, and I was really torn between her getting help and falling in with the Scis.

I know someone that went for Narc treatment. Couldn't care less if he got sucked in or not. Not a nice man.

Sky channels HBO content into Sky Atlantic - BBC to lose Mad Men

Sky has announced it is adding a new channel to its extensive line-up – Sky Atlantic.
The channel has been borne out of a deal with HBO, which means that the channel is choc-full of premium content from the States.

It's bad news for non-Sky customers as it does meant that Mad Men will be leaving the BBC after it has aired the rest of the fourth series.

The strangely-loved show will continue on Sky, with the fifth series airing some time in 2011.

Six feet under the Boardwalk

The announcement of Sky Atlantic does mean that we now have UK dates for three of the most eagerly awaited HBO shows: Game of Thrones, Treme and Boardwalk Empire.

The Scorsese produced Boardwalk Empire will land on Sky Atlantic in February, with Game of Thrones and Treme (made by the same folks as The Wire) showing in April.

Other shows to hit the channel will be Mildred Pierce and re-runs of The Sopranos, The Wire and Six Feet Under.

A UK release date for the channel is yet to be announced, but we will keep you posted as soon as Sky lets us know and there will be an HD version.

It is a busy week for Sky with the satellite service launching Sky 3D, its dedicated 3D channel.

It's a soap opera. A very slickly produced, expensively filmed, well written soap opera but a soap opera nevertheless. And it has that woman with the extraordinary chest, to keep the other half of the family entertained.

Mega shark vs Giant Octopus is on SyFy.

I went to SyFy+1 to record it from the start, but it keeps saying no sat feed, despite the rest of the channels being fine.

I think they're too embarassed to show it twice.

Not being a boob man I fail to find her remotely attractive.

Well if you can't resolve things by 6:30 tonight, they have been showing it quite a few times over the past few weeks so it'll be round again soon, no doubt. And they have no sense of embarrassment at all. Compared to 30,000 Leagues Under The Sea (also tonight) Mega Shark is a cult classic.

Fox gives series order to ‘Napoleon Dynamite’

It's official: "Napoleon Dynamite" is coming to TV.
Fox is giving a series order to a project based on the indie hit, one of two new teen-friendly animated projects greenlighted by the network.
Fox has picked up six episodes of the show, with the original cast on board as voice talent -- including Jon Heder as the title character. The network also ordered seven episodes of another show, "Allen Gregory," from "Superbad" star Jonah Hill and "Yes Man" scribes Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul.
"Gregory" is about the world’s most celebrated seven-year-old embarking on the greatest challenge of his life: attending elementary school with regular kids.
With "Dynamite," the comedy follows the misadventures of an awkward high school teenager and his quirky friends as they struggle to navigate life in rural Idaho.
Both projects are produced by 20th Century Fox TV, with Chernin Entertainment also producing "Gregory." Jared Hess, Jerusha Hess, and "Simpsons" veteran Mike Scully are writing and executive producing "Dynamite." Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope added as executive producers on "Gregory."

I've started to get into Fringe, it really is quite enjoyable. Plus, Dunham is hot.

Am I the only one who thought that film was little more than a crappy cringe-fest? Or is it that it only appeals to a very narrow band in the sense of humour stakes?

I'm wondering if that's the reason why I hate movies by Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler and Mike Myers too. :|

Did anyone see A History Of Horror on BBC4 last night? Mark Gatiss takes a look at the era of Universal's horror films. I will catch it on iPlayer but it may be worth a look.

EDIT: Watched it this lunchtime. It's OK, and contains some good clips of 1930's horror films but if you're a fan of this sort of thing there's nothing you won't already know. Next week's concerns itself with Hammer Films.
