Anyone watched this, is it any good?
I'm looking to expand my sci-fi horizons and since I liked the original (all one series of it) I thought I might give the new one a bash. I'm very much into my Trek and B5, so am I going to like this?

I dunno, but if you haven't seen Firefly (and Serenity) then you need to.

If you've seen Firefly, the camera work will be familiar. Let me be clear. This show is bigger than sci-fi. It asks a lot of questions and is an immense show about the very nature of humanity. It is well written, acted and shot and has a fantastic arc. You'll like the complex storytelling approach, if you like Bab5. If like any Trek at all, the "fleet struggling to find a new home" vibe is Voyagerish, but the storytelling is much more DS9 (which I happen to love, but most Trekkies hate). As a matter of fact, the showrunner for BSG was Ron Moore and was heavily involved with DS9, whilst having some involvement with TNG and Voyager. It's a complex show and reaches far beyond tech babble and simple storytelling. It's ambitious in scope, has a quality feel to it similar to that of a movie and is very compelling. Recommended

I missed the entire series so I got a hold of seasons 1-4 from play for about 30 quid.
Absolute bargain, took a while to get into but it's fantastic. Just waiting on June 1st for the 2nd half, and final part, of season 4.
Get it.

Very good series!
I loved every episode of it and the ending was AAAAWWWWEEEESSSSOOOOMMMMEEEE!
I don't think any other TV show is going to rise to the challenge of beating a finale like this one!
GET IT!

I’ve not seen series 4. I’ll be waiting for boxed sets of the whole lot. For me, this is a “keeper”.
It deals with a lot of issues, and is very timely given real world events. The title of the series is almost immaterial. I think it would have carried itself without being a reboot.

Gets my vote. It's a fantastic series.
One word of warning, if buying individual series DVDs you don't need to buy Razor as it is included in Series 4 (it's disc one). Also, the pilot is about 3 hours long from memory. Very worth it though.

Um, The Wire? Agree with everyone here though. Easily **one of** the best television shows ever (and I've seen a few )

I starting watching it when it first came out in the US and was captivated by it straight away. My viewing got a bit patchy because of odd working hours, then I came back to the UK and haven't had the opportunity to watch any of it since. My Mister downloaded the first season on torrent and we started watching it to see if it was something he could get into, but we got about halfway through the first season and then it sort of dropped off our radar.
Now the network is b0rked so we can't watch it at the moment. I'm hoping we get back into it again because I have been loving it.

Some series i've downloaded over torrent and found so good that i've gone out and bought them.
BSG was one of those series.
I downloaded the first season, got 4 episodes in and went out and bought the box set. (Luckily at christmas the Zavvi sale made buying seasons 1-3 a reasonable £25, whilst seasons 1-3 were £20 individually).
Although it's a bit predictable. After about 2 episodes I said to my friend "They're blatantly going to *INSERT HUGE SPOILER HERE* and that's where it'll end".
And they did.
p.s: Didn't want to ruin it...

Well from what I assumed in the first season, to what eventually happened in the last season... Yeah it was that simple >.< There were a load of things in the middle I didn't see coming at all, but quite simply X happened.

Guys, can we not put any more hints at what happens in the programme. I have seen it and I know what happens at the end but you have basically said "in the beginning they are trying to get somerhwere, in the end they get there." i.e. anyone who watches the first episode will know how the series ends. If you want to put it in white spoiler text then please do
