Morning all.
I really need some rest.
Fun day yesterday at the pub with the family but could really do with a sleep now.

Morning.

Couldn't get off to sleep last night, so I guess I had about five hours in total. I'm not going to make it through the day, and I don't think I'll actually try very hard.

Onwards and sideways.

Lo peeps

Pretty uneventful weekend which, going by recent standards, is like winning the lottery 8-)

Like most here today I'm tired so look out for the chap with keyboard indentations on his forehead - that will be me.

Morning All,

I'm in the "not enough sleep" brigade as well, didn't go to bed until nearly midnight and then up bright and early at 05:30 for work :(
Luckily had a fab weekend to look back on, lots of beautiful and very fast cars, some disaster and lots of laughs, met a new people, saw Chris Rea and drank a goodly amount of beer. ION caffeine-free is going alright, I may have to find some different flavours of tea and see if there's such a thing as "caffeine free coffee" (rather than decaff which isn't the same) on t'internetz.

Busy day ahead, on I go 8-)

Fairly mixed weekend. Saturday was pretty manic with sorting wedding things and the house, although pretty productive. Tora's aunt and her two children turned up for a couple of days, which tbh could have been done without. Having said that, they've been pretty good on the whole considering what they can be like.

Sunday was much more relaxed, 7 of us heading down to Burston Ferris on the other side of Dartmoor. Cream tea for lunch followed by a wander down by the inner estuary was very enjoyable indeed, although incredibly hot. Evening food courtesy of Wagamama's followed by Top Gear (recorded) and then bed.

Now back in work for three days.

5 days and counting!

Ditto. I'm waking up at 5am on the dot and I don't have to be up for work until 7-7.30am! Bah!

Still not really awake.

Have a good day all.

Evening all,

Was grabbed out of bed today and told to be ready to attend a "How to start a creative business" lecture up at the uni...Although it was good, I'm hungry now after having no breakfast or lunch!

After seeing this picture:

I am remembering how I wondered how the WAG could use Comic Sans in their business lecture...

Home now for dinner and trying to get on with the things I really wanted to do today...

Morning all,

Just seen the Hammon and Moss programme, and very good it was.

Now I'm off to put Nick straight in the 4000 posts thread, then off to bed and tomorrow, (or today, if you prefer)... more job hunting.

By the way, I can't say much at the moment but I am formulating a plan which may see me, after 23 years in the industry, moving out of IT... watch this space and...

Have a great day everyone.

:)

Morning all,

I'm back home now. The trip to hospital was successful, now just the frustrating sitting around waiting for my foot to recover.

I had real bad pain the first night, I had the standard painkiller, then an infusion, which worked for about 1.5 hours, then they gave me something from the "special" cupboard, which allowed me to sleep through the night. Next day, they removed the drain and I haven't taken any pain killers since.

I've got a bottle of anti-thrombosis medication, which I have to inject myself every day!

I managed to listen to the audio book of the first of the Stieg Larsson "Millenium" trilogy, Verblendung, over the weekend, which was very good, although the continuity wasn't the best - the voice levels and tone kept chaninging from different takes, I don't know if they switched studios or setups during the recording, but it was a little annoying.

Now I've got to sit around with my foot up for a week. Bad part is, the doctor hardly spoke 2 words to me, so I don't know what I am allowed (or expected) to do... :?
