Morning all, The wife and kids seem to have decided that this is going to be a "let's all be stroppy b'stards" weekend. I may be going out. Have a great weekend everyone.

Morning all,
I'm back home for the weekend, my old school is closing today and are having a big reunion/open day. The grounds will be used by the county council for a short while and then bulldozed....

Dark and dreary here, but I don't give a stuff as I have Coke and Pringles. Not to mention I'm off work for the 12th week

Evening I've had my most infuriating day ever. I spent it at a friend's house. Basically she's had some work done on the house and the guy did the sh*ttest job you ever did see. She's trying to get out of paying but it's looking like she'll lose and have to sell the house to pay for the shoddy work and court costs. - Holes in walls just papered over
- New skirtings held on by air, gravity and willpower
- Laminate floor laid such that the fuse cupboard is inaccessible
- Shower not plumbed in correctly - water p!ssing in through the living room ceiling
- Deathtrap mains sockets
- Plaster not sealed correctly
- Metal light fittings not earthed
- Tricky corners not painted at all
- Random bits of fibreboard sticking out of walls at head-tw@tting height
- Door frames with no facias on
I'm so furious right now that I can't even speak to Mrs. Rusty without a lump in my throat.

Evening all Rusty, surely the Sale of Goods Act means she's fine; the old "not fit for purpose" part in particular? There are certainly plenty of programs out there on what to do if you do encounter crap work. You've probably looked yourself, but I did find this which may be of some use: www.adviceguide.org.uk/c_builders.pdfIn other news, our wedding rings have now been collected from the jewellers. It's now less than a month until the wedding, which is really rather soon!

That's not Sale of Goods Act. That's Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982. I can only recommend contacting Consumer Direct who will put you in touch with your local Trading Standards department. Unfortunately you may end up in Court to enforce your rights.

Ooooh nasty - good luck getting it sorted.
Do you know where the guy lives? People like that can be bloody slippery.

Morning. This is my first post of the day, I think. Mr Rusty, let's hope you can get the mess sorted out. It sounds nasty.

Morning.
The start of another week? Oh brother.
Some unknown peeps tweeted nice things about my Posterous blog overnight, which is nice. If I was bothered, I'd set up the analytics stuff to see how many new visitors it gets.
Plans for the week? To get through it intact. Let's see if it works.

Morning all, My head hurts and I'm contemplating driving the hire car back myself, as I have no idea what time they will turn up for it, and there's nobody to leave the keys with. Oh well, have a great day everyone.
