Is it an I7 core laptop?

Yep 8-)

Sony Vaio F series, 16.4" 1920x1080 display, 8GB RAM Core i7-720 QM processor. MacBook style "chicklet" keyboard, with number pad, Wifi, bluetooth, speakers are actually pretty decent. Design is very nice and understated, all graphite and black.

I got it through Alternate.de, their price (and MediaMarkt's price) is actually lower for this model than the entry level version!

Deleted Flickr account (was free with BT package) as it looks like I'm moving to Virgin cable. I wanted to keep BT but the wiring at the new house for the phone line is a mess and I'm not paying to sort it. God knows how much longer I'm going to be without internet though!

[LIFTED], that's really not good. Good luck with finding a replacement.

How different is Germany to the UK in terms of redundancy packages etc?

Pretty good, but I haven't been there a year yet! They are shelving my role... But they did say I will get an extra payment...

4 months to find something new...

4 months doesn't seem too bad in terms of finding a 'proper' replacement rather than ending up at the first position you can get your hands on, but I imagine that's little consolation.

I'm also guessing that at your level there's probably no worthwhile training that you can wangle out of it either?

Was that really necessary to delete the account?
Once you're signed up to Flickr with a Yahoo! ID then it shouldn't have anything to do with the BT package you signed up for.

Its is kind of......

I get Pro for free with my ISP deal but once that expires (i.e. I leave) all the pictures uploaded will no longer be accessible with a 'standard' account. Its something to do with picture sizes and whatnot. Its easier to get rid, have a clean up and sign up again with a new Yahoo ID (mine was a btinternet.com ID) with a standard account.

This is the same for any Flickr account. If I let my 'Pro' account lapse I can still get access to the last 200 images uploaded and should I then make it a pro account again all the images that I previously had access to are still there and become available once again.
I really don't think you needed to delete your account at all.

I've deleted Adobe Acrobat Pro from my system.

The updater nagged me one too many times, so I let it do its thing. Only it broke. I was presented with a dialog box I needed to access in order for the installer to complete, only it was inaccessible. No way I could actually click on it, round it, make it active, whatever. Two attempts, two force quits, and hello Acrobat Uninstaller!

I won't miss it.

So does BT have some sort of tie-in with Yahoo! where you don't actually have a proper username for Flickr?
If so then that's a bit rubbish, in my opinion.
