Because it doesn't turn my fingers blue when I go outside.
Because I still have full use of my hands.
Because driving in this weather doesn't carry the risk of someone losing control and sliding into me.
Because I can still feel my toes.
Because I don't have to walk around with 5kg of clothes on just to feel a normal temperature.
Because I can sit on the grass in the park and not get freezing cold or soaking wet.
Because I can go for a walk in the park without getting covered in mud.
Because when I get home I have another 5 hours of daylight to do stuff.
Because it isn't dark when I go to work in the morning and dark when I go home at night like in the winter giving me the impression that the sun doesn't actually rise at all.

I think it's horses for courses. With the exception of the car losing control and the daylight to do stuff, none of those things mentioned are issues for me in the slightest.

TBH I like being slightly cold.

Had a wonderful 28°C for my party yesterday. Fed 70 people.

28°C outside at the moment, just finished packing away all of the benches and tables that were in the tent...

It is hot, but not too uncomfortable.

Autumn looks nicer, and it covers my birthday

I don't mind it being hot, but only when I can get outside to relax and enjoy it. Working in the heat is no fun at all and the heat affects everyone differently, just because some people enjoy it and take every opportunity to get out in the sun, doesn't mean everyone feels the same way, and each to their own.

During the day when I'm stuck in an office with absolutely no temperature regulation possible I get very grumpy in the heat because there's no getting away from it. I can put more clothes on in winter, but there's a limit to how much I'll take off at work when it's hot.

Cooling off midweek apparently...

Hopefully it will rain and refill my water butt the kids decided to empty during a long drawn out water fight…… or my ummm.. tomato plants are going to have to try Peckham spring water.

We just let the bath water cool if the water butt is running low, a mild amount of soap is actually good for dealing with things like aphids and doesn't cause issues for plants.

I guess HR frowns upon employees working naked?

Fin, it has just the same potential to be this hot in autumn, though you may prefer the way it looks fair enough. My point was conditions wise, spring and autumn are essentially the same climatically.



I never said that working in it was great. (Although for me, it's mostly not a problem due to my job and location). I sympathise with people who feel fed up during the day. What I was saying, is that if you use your days off/evenings to the max, it more than makes up for the work day problems. So it's not each to their own, it's people not making the most of the benefits, alongside enduring the negatives.

30C+ At Corris yesterday, and I was in a big metal tin making a big fire bigger. Think I lost half my body weight in sweat. Firing a loco for a day in this weather really takes it out of you. >.<

And now I have to drive 150 miles in a car with no aircon. Yay!

But if you're the kind of person who's totally incapacitated by the heat, then you can't make the most of your days off, unless "making the most of" includes sitting inside the house in no clothes with a fan blowing directly at you. Evenings are different, although if you work late and have worked hard during a hot day then I can imagine that all you'd want to do in the evenings is sit in a cool bath.

My only point was that not everyone enjoys hot weather, and aren't able to make the most of it.

Even if they don't, I do!!

Well for those of us lucky enough to be working in offices, or data centres the comms rooms are a nice 18 degrees celcius all year round...

Going to ask the boss for a beer fridge in there lol
