Different cadence. It's like asking if people from Edinburgh sound different to people from Glasgow.

Yes, but it's relatively subtle. I find the main difference is how they prounce the letter "e" in words like yes. Australians seem to almost extend the e, but a New Zealander will replace it with an 'i' - yis.

See, not even I knew there were differences in accent between those two. This despite going to school with a geordie. Mark

There isn't a huge amount, It's quite similar for Tyneside-Wearside-Teeside because of their locations sound fairly similar A Teeside accent is noticeable different however from a Tyneside accent but less so from a Wearside one (used Tyneside because it's really those livign on/near the river Tyne so even as far as Haltwhistle (half way from Newcastle to Carlisle) is technically on the Tyne) Which is near where Brian Johnson from AC/DC has a home as he said on Top Gear as there is an excellent country road nearby

It depends, but for a New Zealander it is similar to asking a Scotsman, if he comes from Southern England.

It's like asking a Klingon if he comes from veng wa'DIch or voSpegh veng. Sorry, did I break the game?

They are two different cities on the Klingon planet... I googled it, by the way. We were talking about confusing different accents, weren't we?
