Quick post from me:

Tore my ACL yesterday.

Do you know how torn it is? Are the medials stretched a lot? I presume it'll be an arthroscopic job to get it fixed, which should mean you'll be back on the bike fairly fast in the grand scheme of things, at least.

But feck me, I've never felt pain like it.

Knees hurt; hope it's fixed quick.

Not the slightest yet dude. They ummed and ahhed a bit, and when I told them it popped and gave way it was "OMG CRAP DUDE ACL NOT GOOD COME BACK NEXT WEEK WHEN SWELLINGS GONE. LOL SMILEY FACE".

The people at Barnsley General really haven't got a clue as to what they're doing. Think I'm going to Sheffield Children's Hospital sometime next week.

So just the write up left.... and working on it before submission to get the quality up
Get the evaluation/synthesis updated and done today, tutor feedback by wed, then print, bind submit thursday to skip the rush of others

And of course design/testing documentation

Lots of time then :D Mine took a week to write up, though was slightly waylaid by some oddities in LaTeX (mainly proof readers complaining that justified text as found in scientific journals is difficult to read, spent ages trying to get a ragged right package to work nicely, then there was the drawing done in LaTeX).

I have to demo my code to my supervisor and second marker, was told yesterday afternoon that it is this afternoon...So I'm dragging my Mac Pro up to campus to show them what my system can do. Just hope it doesn't fall over helplessly!

Nashville submerged after deadly storms

From the BBC:
Quote:
Nashville landmarks like the Country Music Hall of Fame and the symphony centre are surrounded by water.

More rain needed here I think. Clicky

Gah! I have an appointment to look at a new product and all hell breaks loose at the office! Only got to see the introduction, before legging it back to the office. :(

Well my synthesis is pretty much finished aside from the test plan and the design docs

I did my drawing in Visual Studio 2008 to create class diagrams, then got a couple of UML diagrams and screenshots to make

Need to talk about HCI.... I don't like talking about HCI as it's planning for dummies the way the university likes it presented to them.

But my report looks like it's going to be ~ 40 pages if I can get a bit more in my analysis and get a decent length evaluation before I include diagrams, charts, screenshots, code snippets etc.

I thought 600-700 lines was rather short for a final year project then I forgot the amount of refactoring and recursion I had in places, the most important function is only 10 lines of code but efficiently recursive

Tried out my new snowboard for the first time last night. It was awesome. It turned so easily compared to the crappy hire boards I usually have to use.
I've also come to the conclusion that going in the evening is better than going first thing in the morning. It's still snow on the slope rather than ice that has frozen over night..

Sounds like you've got it under wraps.

My project was ~2000 lines of shell scripts, plus at least 1000 lines of comments. My report was 72 pages, but they wanted me to write ~15,000 words. So given pictures, etc., it's about right...

Do you have a rough word count to write to? Many friends on other (non-computer) degrees only had to write ~8,000

Under wraps but plenty to do still, was meant to meet my mate for a few drinks, good thing he cancelled as it gives me more time now.

No set word count, aim is got approx 45 pages IIRC but that excludes appendices, references etc

Assuming the airspace is volcanic dust free yes, I am, for about three hours (assuming no delays).
