It can be burnt to DVD and is supplied with a cable if the shape won't work with your current hardware.

It can be played on any registered computer so I'm not sure if it has region protection or not. I used to buy many DVDs but now I move frequently between the UK and Oz I don't bother because of region protection. My DVD drive only gives a limited number of region changes before it is locked and as I would use it as a primary device for playback just don't bother with DVDs anymore. I've tried flashing the ROM a couple of times without success but don't really see why I should have to bother. In the effort to maintain licensing and prevent piracy the industry has influenced me to download films instead, and the only money they make from me is when I go to the cinema.

I could be interested in getting films on a USB but a 1GB file for a 2+ hour film sounds like there may be a drop in quality. I would also want to be able to put the file on an external drive because of my travels, so I'll wait to see one in operation or read positive reviews before I venture down that path.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

It's cool in a nerdy kind of way. However, I can't see how that will fit into any of the USB sockets my kit has.

It's a bad pic, others around the web suggest it would fit like an ordinary stick (also comes with a mini-USB lead). And Play.com are good about sending stuff back anyway (covering you for postage or getting a courier to pick it up if it's a bigger item) :D

If it is locked to the USB drive then what good is that? If the DRM stops you putting it on a computer then why?

It runs on up to 6 devices via DIVX - it's still probably a better deal than an ordinary stick if you're a Trek fan :)
