That is interesting. Out of interest what do 32GB SD cards cost? I haven't seen any in the shops yet.

Now this is as much as a reminder to myself as anything, but Scott Bourne has started co-hosting an iPad Podcast.

Possibly via the Photofocus Podcast, which is how I became aware of him. I only mentioned the name as reference to the fact he has hosted previous podcasts, as I haven't listened to this podcast yet.

You clearly don't do my job (8-p) I easily clear 20hrs of podcasts a week whilst at my desk, plus a twenty minute walk each way each day, plus various trips on public transport, plus...

I have now had a look on Amazon. £60-£100 seems more typical. Even so it looks like a good idea.

I dont like memory on ebay. Theres a lot of fakes kicking aorund on ebay where you get about half the advertised storage. Some of the Sandisk ones can be hard to tell from the real thing when done properly. I have seen genuine (but only cheap brands and class 4) for around £55 though.

I've had a counterfeit SDHC card from eBay. Despite being listed as being 'in the UK' it took forever to arrive. From China. The capacity was correct (4GB) but the plastic housing, the printing on the label and the packaging all didn't look right compared to my legitimate SDHC card of the same brand. I'm fairly certain it was a chip that wasn't Grade A and has trickled down into the hands of the counterfeiters. So I don't use eBay for memory cards anymore.

They are often chipped to spoof the capacity. Only by storing and retrieving files to the full capacity can you be certain.

Has anyone posted this already: Personally, if it failed in the first 3 years I'd be unhappy paying that much. When I read the headline, I assumed they meant they'd replace it for free! http://www.itpro.co.uk/621448/apple-off ... ttery-dies

Don't forget, most laptop manufacturers only guarantee the battery for the first 6 months, after that, you have to pay for replacement...
That said, my Acer is over 6 years old and still holds over 90% charge.

I actually think that is not such a bad deal depending on how long they allow you to do this. I still have five year old iPods with perfectly adequate batteries. Is there mention of a deadline by which you cannot replace the battery?
