They may be too darned expensive on the continent. But there aren't many options on the British high street that get you the same level of nutrition, hunger satiation and freshness for £2-3. Down here you could get a pasty, but that's not in the same league health wise. Aside from that, you're looking at a packet of sandwiches from a corner shop or supermarket and two triangles of sandwich just doesn't equal a sub. It's not a turd, it's a great concept. Just like the fast food burger was 50yrs ago. Unfortunately, things have progressed, money has come into it and the whole things gone to hell.

I don't get it? I had a subway today - and asked them to tesselate the cheese. After explaining what that meant, the employee was more than happy to do it.

I worked in subway, and noone apart from the boss spoke english fluently. It was really difficult sometime to get anything done lol.

I used to go a lot, new baguette place opened up fairly nearby so go there instead Any Baguette £2.50 sandwich £2 roll £1.80 Loads of fillings and it's all fresh as they never put a load of veg out unless its busy Lot quicker to get served too... and my gf said it tastes nicer
