Started this thread on PCPro, but it's just gone down :-( As this seems to be the natural new home...

Auto updated to FF3.0.9 today (on Win XP SP3). Now starts up *really* slowly, and then crashes with the Mozilla Crash Reporter if closed down and reopened. The only way to get it to open again is to do a restart on the PC. Then it will only start once - it repeats the close, re-open attempt, crash with MCR sequence. Any ideas? TVMIA

Possibly a corrupt install? Uninstall Firefox, download and re-install?

You may want to export your bookmarks to a file, then wipe the Firefox directory in your users and settings folder too...

Thanks, guys - uninstalled and reinstalled - all OK now, and working *much* faster than it has for ages :D

Also can't help feeling a bit chuffed to have the first ever PC software post on x404 - sad old man that I am

Grace, peace and plenty,

David.

Strangely FF won't work for me.

Not sure why.

Uninstalled it and reinstalled it.

Just crashes upon opening.

Meh, not that I really use it anyway. I use Chrome for some resource-friendly browsing, and Opera for some image/tab-intensive browsing.
