Evening,

I have just been upgraded (8mb virgin media line + unlimited DLs + router for £8 a month), and Virgin sent me a Netgear DG834T router. I've got it all plugged in and set up, but every so often (usually when I torrent), it will drop the connection, and not work until I close uTorrent again.

I think it might be something to do with uPNP coming on, as it changes settings that usually require a reboot (port forwarding etc), but I've disabled uPNP before and tried manually forwarding the ports myself but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Cheers! :D

Wireless uses shared bandwidth. utorrent will use as much of it as it can and flood the network.
You need to use a cable really when on a heavy download session

I seem to have fixed it.

I changed the channel (from 10 to 5), and changed the SSID from Dad-This-Is-Wireless (dad = dumb lol) to 199 (for obv reasons. :D)

All fixed!

Thanks anyway Sas!

Must have been a channel conflict killing the transmitter power
