Afternoon all - not even hot (yet) and the office is stuffy - but then they turn off the a/c over the weekend have ordered a small USB fan for my desk |

Morning all, 32°C yesterday, supposed to be hotter today. We aren't allowed USB fans, no non-company USB or storage can be attached to a company PC. But the company does provide proper desk fans. Wife is thrilled with her new e-bike. |

Morning all, 38°C yesterday, it is supposed to reach over 40°C today. Tomorrow should cool down a bit and give us a storm, then another heat wave for the weekend and into next week. It is just after 6 and I was out walking the dog and I am dripping! I hate hot weather!! |

All the best, John. I've been suffering with a sprained wrist, elbow and shoulder for about 6 weeks, with movement and strength slowly coming back, a bit more each day... The heatwave has died down, we should only have mid 20s this week, but it is set to increase back into the 30s mid July.

That sounds painful, Dave. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Morning all, Had a back to work meeting with my boss yesterday. She seems to think I might not get full pay for the time I was off. I sense a storm brewing... *ominous music plays in the background* Have a great day, everyone.

It is too long since I worked in the UK, so I can't remember what the rules are. At Cap, I'd been there so long, that I get 6 months paid sick leave - I was lucky, I got mono and was written off sick for 3 months in 2001/2002. Over here we get 6 weeks at full pay (per illness), then the Krankenkasse (health insurance) takes over and you get 60% of your normal salary. My other half fell into that at the beginning of the year, it can make for tight budgeting! I hope you get it all sorted out satisfactorily. |
