Unless you're part of the privitasation of the public sector of course; not only will you be able to carry on leeching after billions of prior taxpayer investment, you'll get thousands in hush money when you inevitably fcuk up so badly you have to go and join another committee or trust.

£95K is actually quite a lot of redundancy. I've been doing a pretty well paid public sector-ish job for a good few years and at the last round of voluntary redundancies at our place, the amount I'd have taken away would be less than a third of that.

The only people getting anywhere near £95K are executives or people who have been in the job for basically their whole working career. And I assume the former group will be able to negotiate forms of payment that don't count towards the limit anyway (enhanced pension inputs etc). So basically next to nobody will breach the limit anyway, it's another classic piece of PR legislation that sounds good to a number of voters but in fact will make pretty much zero difference to anyone.
