Hello all, Being in the Granada television region, all of the signals are switching to digital in November/December this year. It's only two months away now, so I've got my rooftop aerial fixed and all of my televisions are set up. I was talking to my Mum about it last night and she didn't have a clue what the digital switchover was! Even though they keep sending her letters, she still didn't realise that it actually affected her and thought they were trying to sell her a satellite television package. I'm sure my Mum isn't the only person in the region confused. I can imagine the amount of complaints to the BBC come November/December Peter.

You'll start getting the local news talking about the switch over. It's not just going to happen without you noticing, if you watch any television at all. It's happened already in our region and it seemed pretty painless. There were, as usual, a handful of folk who had a couple of issues, but by and large I think it was a success.

I certainly hope so! On BBC and ITV yesterday, there were pop-up messages reminding you to re-tune on 30th September otherwise you would lose access to those channels. Don't ask me why I started a new thread though. I think I was just slightly shocked that some people still don't understand what's going to happen. Peter.

According to the latest Digital UK Switchover Progress Report, 89% of people have heard of the digital switchover. That's still a lot of people who haven't Peter.

Yes far too many. I have another couple of years before the switch over affects this region. I would expect that the numbers here are just as bad.

+1 They always zip by at a rate of 12x for us. If there's anything that catches my eye I'll stop and watch it, but as soon as it's gone I fast forward the rest until we get to the programme. Mark

I live in a cable area so I can get the channels depending on whether I am willing to subscribe for them.
